The Negatives of Eggs:
- A serving of 2 large eggs contains 11 grams of Fat, consisting of 2 grams of 多元不飽和脂肪 Polyunsaturated fat (good fat) and 5 grams of 克單元不飽和脂肪 Monounsaturated fat (good fat) and 3.5 grams of Saturated fat (falls in the middle), the bad fats are called 工業製造的反式脂肪 Industrial-made Trans Fat. Still, consuming too many Eggs probably isn't a good idea.- Eating whole eggs (both white and the yolk) causes increased in HDL (Good Cholesterol) as the Cholesterol is concentrated on the Yolks; if a person don't want the Cholesterol but only the Proteins in Eggs, then just have the Egg whites. Without the Egg Yolks means will be losing out on Vitamins B2, B12, D, A, and B9 (葉酸 Folate).- Having Eggs plus other foods also high in Cholesterol isn't a good idea.- Chickens and other live poultry can carry 沙門氏菌 Salmonella bacteria. These germs can spread from the birds to their eggs. If you eat 生雞蛋 raw or 未煮熟的雞蛋 undercooked eggs, you can get sick.
The Positives of Eggs:
- Some research indicates that 1-3 eggs per day is the acceptable limit.- At this level of consumption (1-3 eggs per day), people can expect 膽固醇水平變化不多 minimal changes in their cholesterol levels.- A small study in 38 healthy adults found that as many as 3 eggs per day improved LDL and HDL levels and the LDL-to-HDL ratio. Egg yolk also protects your heart health, reduces the risk of stroke and is useful for bone, brain, liver, heart and nervous system.
- Eggs (boiled) have a Glycemic Index and Glycemic Load of 0 and therefore do not affect Blood Sugar levels.- An average egg provides 0.6g Total Carbs and 0.6g of Net Carbs (Low Carb) because Eggs seems do NOT have any Fiber; therefore, 2 eggs will be 1.2g of Net Carbs (For Keto requirement will be <50g and 2ggs satisfy 4% daily Carb needs, Non Keto can allow maybe 225 to 325g of Carbs for a 2000 Calories daily requirement where one can consume a lot more eggs daily).- Two eggs give 12 grams of Protein (0.75g for every kg Weight per person; so, 70kg person would require around 53g Protein and 2ggs will satisfy 23% daily Protein needs).
- Eggs are therefore Low Carb food but kind of High in Protein and Fat (Saturated and unSaturated Fats).
- With Eggs and a Diet that are 蛋白質較高 higher in protein and 脂肪含量較高 fat and 碳水化合物含量極低的飲食 very low in carbohydrates may also cause 酮症 Ketosis, a process that 鼓勵身體燃燒脂肪 encourages the body to burn fat for energy.
