Thoughts: Happy Hour and Dinner today is at "Brotzeit VivoCity, Harbourfront" in 新加坡怡豐城 Vivo City, Singapore. Brotzeit is a German Restaurant and Beer Bar offering a variety of all German dishes and beer. Definitely a nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy a drink or two as experienced today on a Friday night where it was already full house at 7am and without reservations, only seats at the bar counter were available. VivoCity is a happening place for shopping, food, and watering holes! 

Started with a SGD$25 "啤酒樣品和小吃 Beer Sampler" with 4 small glasses 艾丁格啤酒 Erdinger beer samplers from Weissbier, Dunkel, Urweisse, and Brauhaus Helles Lager from a choice of 7 German draught beers! The Samplers comes with 4 小食 Nibbles: 脆豬皮 Pork Cracklings (crispy pig skin), 小黃瓜 Bierbeisser & Gherkin, 煙熏鱒魚配黃瓜沙拉 Smoked trout with cucumber salad, 酸白菜紐倫堡香腸切片 Sliced Nurnberger with sour Kraut.  

Next is a SGD$18 德國豬肉奶酪香腸 Kasekrainer (Pork-Cheese Sausage) plus a 0.3L SGD$11.50 "多特蒙德出口啤酒 Dortmunder Export Larger (DAB)". "[維也納] 香腸 Käsekrainer" is a type of lightly 熏煮香腸 smoked Brühwurst containing roughly torn bits of 豬肉 Pork and 10% to 20% 奶酪 Cheese. Käsekrainer was said to have been invented by two people from 奧地利州北部 Upper Austria, chef Herbert Schuch from Buchkirchen and Franz Thalhammer in the late 1960s. In 維也納 Vienna, where Käsekrainer is a very popular 奧地利國民路邊攤美食 street food, according to urban legends and this type of sausages are sold on 香腸攤 Würstelstand where different parts of society mix and mingle and where the construction worker eats the street food side by side with a gentlemen in a tuxedo after or before attending upscale ball. 

Ending tonight's happy hour dinner with a SGD$36 "白蘆筍和黑森林火腿 Der Klassiker & Schwarzwald Schnken (White Asparagus & Black Forest Ham)". Unlike 青蘆筍 Green Asparagus, the 白蘆筍 White Asparagus is a 時令蔬菜 seasonal vegetable only available from mid-April to end-June every year; Additionally, since white asparagus season is shorter, it is typically more expensive than its green counterparts. White asparagus is ubiquitous in Germany during springtime and the Germans go mad for the White asparagus as a German friend once, noted their undeniable resemblance to a 陰莖 phallus! The plate of White asparagus comes with chunks of 土豆沙拉 Potato salad and 黑森林火腿 Black Forest Ham with an excellent 奶酪蘸醬 Cheese dip!

Thoughts: Was here on March 8th., last month for dinner, today is lunch for another porky sausage meal plus to sample the 德國福倫斯堡啤酒 Flensburger Beer. Along the road of the single shop lot here are quite a lot of MBPJ parking but very challenging at 1:30pm today, the waiters at "The Butcher's Table" said that parking in this part of SS2 is free at the moment!
福倫斯堡金黃啤酒 Flensburger Gold is a Lager beer brewed by Flensburger Brauerei in Flensburg, Germany. The Brewery was founded in 1888 and is one of the last country-wide operating breweries not being part of a larger brewery group. Bavaria has one of the highest density of breweries in the world, with around 1300 breweries producing over 5000 brands of beer. 福倫斯堡啤酒 Flensburger is Germany's No.1 摆动顶瓶啤酒 swing-top bottle beer. A 摆动顶瓶 swing top bottle is a bottle that can be re-sealed over and over again without needing a bottle opener. The swing top itself is an O-shaped rubber ring affixed to a plastic or porcelain stopper. Compared to cap bottled beers, the swing-top is much easier and quicker, and requires fewer tools to open. 

Today's rm$20.90 "福倫斯堡金黃啤酒 Flensburger Gold" is a 4.8%ABV Lager, looks very nice in the glass. Pours out to the glass with thick Solid white head with golden yellow body. Feels malty and light aroma, taste a bit sweet in the beginning but leaves an overall bitterness after that. A 6-Pack of Flensburger Gold is probably around USD$15 (or rm$60 which means around rm$10 per bottle), here today is rm$20.90 per bottle and is acceptable price, considering that Malaysia has the third highest tax on alcohol worldwide at 15%, behind Norway and Singapore.

The Butcher's table offers 2 types of Ring Sausage: either 炒洋蔥 Sautéed Onion or 芝士 Melted Cheddar, and both at rm$27.75 per serving. The German Ring Sausage, sometimes known as "Rringwurst" or maybe I think "Ring Bologna sausage"; this sausage meat product (either Beef or Pork or Mixed or Pork Liver or even Pork Blood!) is over a foot long and is pliable enough to be shaped into a circle or Ring.
