Thoughts: Was here on October 1 for SS9 "Lontong and Such" Cafe's signature 隆東 Lontong, and today for breakfast is a rm$8 "馬來薄烤餅 Lempeng", Lempeng Kelapa with 叁巴醬 Sambal, excellent! 

Lempeng is a 類似煎餅 Pancake-like dish that is cooked using batter as the main ingredient on a hot flat surface. The batter is usually made from wheat flour or rice flour, mixed with water and a little salt, sometimes eggs as well. AND today's rm$5.50 "馬來椰子風味薄烤餅 Lempeng Kelapa's" batter has the extra ingredient of 椰奶 Santan Air Kelapa (Coconut Milk and Coconut Water)! Interestingly goes very well with Sambal sauce. 

One of the signature dishes looking forward to sample by "Lontong & Such" is their 安班飯 Nasi Ambeng BUT it is only available around 11am or later.

Thoughts: Not overly sweet, super delicious Malay dessert made via the traditional method of cooking the dessert cakes over a fire of 椰棕丝和椰殼 coconut coir. You can find the little stall about 200m+ south of Swiss-Garden Resort & Spa Hotel. You can probably see the burning Coconut Coir when the stall prepare for the day as early as around 7:30am+ every morning, it is also just next to Warung Lala. Perhaps the traditional malay kueh are a wonderful dessert choice after your Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Lemak, or Nasi Berlauk at Warung Lala. 

Sampled all 3 choices of the freshly baked traditional malay kueh, each one fresh and hot infused with the burning coconut flavor. The "蛋風味 Kuih Akok Telur" was rm$2/pc and was definitely the best of the three baked items, I think much flavorful than some of the 蛋撻 Chinese Egg Tarts from KL Dim Sum shops. The rm$1 "斑斕風味 Kuih Bakar Pandan" was equally delicious, and maybe really best to have them while they are warm.

According to locals, this way of baking the "Malay dessert cakes" with Coconut Coir (Sabut Kelapa) is the traditional method in the East Coast and especially popular in the Ramadan month. 

Highly recommended over the Hotel Breakfast Buffet.
