Thoughts: The founder and managing director of 華陽咖啡 Oriental Kopi is 拿督陳建丞 Dato' Calvin Chan Jian Chern (拿督陳 Calvin Chan started his career 銷售手機 selling mobile phones before transitioning into the 食品飲料業 F&B industry.). He established the popular 馬來西亞咖啡店連鎖 Malaysian Kopitiam Chain in 2020, focusing on 招牌白咖啡 signature white coffee, and 蛋塔 egg tarts. Under his leadership, he developed the chain from a single, humble kitchen in 柔佛再也 Johor Jaya into a RM2.5 billion company. and the brand has grown to dozens of outlets and was listed on the ACE Market in 2025. At of today, 華陽咖啡 Oriental Kopi have at least 37 location or more in Malaysia and is actively expanding in Malaysia, 馬六甲 Melaka (1 location), 柔佛 Johor (9 locations), 檳城 Penang (3 locations), 砂勞越 Sarawak (2 locations), 新加坡 Singapore (3 locations), and looking at other 東南亞國家 Southeast Asian countries.

華陽咖啡 Oriental Kopi are mostly found inside popular Malls (at least in Klang Valley), and there are 3 locations in KLIA2 (Arrival hall, Departure hall, as well as Boarding Hall). This one visited today is at KL's Mid Valley Megamall, and likely one of the few earliest Cafe offering breakfast as early as 7am daily at the Mall. As Mid Valley is a huge mall, best parking is near to the "P1 or P2 Centre Court" where the escalator will take you up directly to level LG where the Cafe is just next to the escalator exit at level Lower Ground (LG). 

華陽咖啡 Oriental Kopi is best known for its award-winning 葡式蛋撻 Portuguese Egg Tarts, 香氣四溢的白咖啡 aromatic Oriental White Coffee, and 酥脆的菠蘿包 crispy Polo Buns. Top savory, 南洋風味菜餚 authentic Nanyang-style dishes include their 招牌椰漿飯 signature Nasi Lemak, 炒粿條 Char Kuey Teow, and flavorful 咖哩叻沙麵 Curry Laksa Mee.
Breakfast today starts with a rm$14.90 "八寶茶 Eight Treasure Herbal Tea", which is 各種草藥沖泡而成 brewed with tea leaves and various herbs including 紅棗 red dates, 菊花 chrysanthemum, 枸杞 gojii 莓果 berries, 重瓣紅玫瑰 double-petal red roses and 茉莉花 jasmine flowers, The combination of these ingredients creates a fragrant tea with a rich and sweet flavor.

Almost sample the Cafes signature 酥皮蛋塔 Egg Tart rm$10.80 for 2 pieces (minimum order), available daily around or before 7:45am (as the open kitchen starts baking the tarts around 7:00am daily and requires around 45 minutes preparations and baking time). Oriental Kopi's egg tarts are highly rated for their 一百二十八層 128-layer, 酥脆的外皮 extremely flaky crust and 滑順的蛋奶餡 creamy egg custard, earning a 馬來西亞紀錄大全 Malaysia Book of Records title for "最厚外皮 the thickest crust". Often described as a 葡式和港式甜點的融合 hybrid between Portuguese and Hong Kong styles, they are crispy, sweet but 不油膩 not greasy, and recommended best eaten freshly baked to avoid a "jelak" (overpowering) sensation. AND the daily first fresh baked 酥皮蛋塔 Egg Tart comes out at around 7:45am every day!
