Parking: MPSJ Thoughts: The famous Pudu Wei Kee known by locals for its "正宗香港(深井)烧鹅烧鸭 Hong Kong (SHAM-TSENG) Roast Goose & Duck". The original location has been in my list-of-to-eat for a very long time but as it was already closed in September 2014 due to tenancy issues. In October 2014, it was relocated to Subang Jaya USJ10.
The chef at the USJ10 branch reveals some of the stories of the old Wei Kee as well as Goose supply issues in Klang Valley. Where a plate of rice with Duck costs rm$9.30 here at Wei Kee (elsewhere is rm$1+ cheaper), a plate of Goose rice cost rm$21 and the Drumstick variant is rm$60 (which is considered 1/4 portion of a Goose). Had an opportunity to sample "燒鵝脾飯加奶茶 Goose drumstick rice" in "陳記燒鵝專門店 Chan Kee Roasted Duck" at 香港旺角 Mong Kok Hong Kong 03.03.2017 for HKD$130. So, its about the same price to Hong Kong!
Perhaps should have tried Wei Kee's Goose Drumsticks, the rm$21 Goose meat wasn't too bad and the meal does comes with preserved vegetables and 2 sauce (梅子醬 Plum sour and excellent 辣椒醬 chili sauce).
USJ10's 偉記 Restoran Wei Kee also offers 燒肉 Roasted Pork, 叉燒 CharSiew, and 菜園雞 Farm Chicken as well as a dozen other dishes including 蔬菜 Vegetables, 豆腐 Tofu, 咖哩野豬 Curry Wild Boar, 醋豬肉 Vinegar Pork, 鵝翼 Goose Wing and 鵝掌 Goose Web! Definitely will be back for more.
