PJ SS24's "美佳鴻運海鮮餐室 Restoran Megah Good Luck" and "餐餐樂茶餐室 Restoran Gembira" are the only 2 Multi-hawker stall Koptiam in Taman Megah shop lots. And both have been serving breakfast and lunch to not only SS24 folks but also nearby Taman residents. Since 2014, "Megah Good Luck" have been serving their popular signature 虎咬狮咖啡 Ho Ka Sai (太平招牌 Taiping Signature), 海南茶 Hainan Teh, 勁抽冰 Geng Chao Bing (文冬招牌 Bentong Signature), 羊角麵包 Croissant, and 甘榜雞蛋 Kampung Egg. (Didn't know about it until stumbled upon an article about the Kopitiam today)

Today's rm$7 "斗糊干撈豬米粉生肉粉 Tawau Pork noodle" was the dry variant with Vermicelli (like 炒米粉 fried Beehoon) topped with some 鬆脆的豬油炸 crunchy pork lard. On the side is a bowl of pork soup with vegetables 菜心 Choi Sum, 沙巴式瘦豬生肉片 Sabah style thin Pork slices, and 豬肝 Pork Liver. BUT instead of the mediocre Teh C, should have tried either the 太平 Taiping 虎咬狮咖啡 Ho Ka Sai or 文冬 Bentong 勁抽冰 Geng Chao Bing. 

Fun facts: 沙巴生肉麵 Sabah Sang Yuk Mian, where 生肉 Sang Yuk, literally means 生肉 raw meat, but in this instance the Sabah signature noodle dish uses only 新鮮豬肉片 fresh pork slices. This style of pork noodle is uniquely from Sabah, and isn't the same as the 吉隆坡豬肉粉 KL Pork Noodle. While KL's Pork Noodle's broth uses more than one type of pork bone or maybe anchovies, Sabah pork noodle soup is usually whiter due to the broth being boiled for long hours and uses only meaty pork bone to make the broth; hence, the Sabah pork noodle broth tends to be a little sweeter! KL's Pork Noodle uses a variety of Pork and more popular with the Soup version with mainly 豬肉碎 Minced Meat, a variety of 豬內臟 Pork innards like 豬肝 Pork Liver and 豬腸 Pork Intestine plus topped with a 生雞蛋 raw egg. While the Sabah style noodle uses 切成薄片的豬肉片 thinly sliced pork slices, usually uses 里脊肉 Pork Tenderloin or Loin as well as 醃製豬肝 marinated 豬肝 Pork Livers, usually serve with 黃麵 yellow noodles drenched in 晒油 Kicap Soya Manis as well as 老抽 Dark Soy Sauce for the dark color, and topped with 豬油炸 pork cracklings. 

"SS2 福成 Hock Seng Two" in PJ SS24's "美佳鴻運海鮮餐室 Restoran Megah Good Luck" began operation around 2019's Chinese New Year period. The stall sits behind the Kopitiam, offering noodles from rm$7 to rm$9 including 斗糊生肉粉 Sabah Pork Noodle, 米線醬爆豬肉粉 Sauce Pork Noodle, comes with 乾撈 Dry or 湯 Soup variants with noodles choices of 米粉 Beehoon, 粿條 Kuey Teow, 老鼠粉 Loh See Fun, 黃麵 Yellow Noodles, and 米線 Mee Xin.

Thoughts: 第九站燒臘 has been established in PJ for 18 years, or also called as "亞郭夜市" available daily in the evening session at the SS24 Taman Megah Kopitiam "美佳鴻運海鮮餐室 Restoran Megah Good Luck". If recalled correctly, available at 第九站燒臘 are the following:

Today's rm$12.50 "滷水豬雜飯 Stewed pork innards w/Rice" comes with a plated with 滷豆腐 Braised Beancurd and 滷雞蛋 Braised Egg, and another plate of 滷豬耳朵 Pig innards of Pig Ear and 滷豬舌頭 Pig Tongue plus white rice, also a bowl of 枸杞例湯 Wolfberry Soup. And yes, the home-made chili sauce was an excellent dip for the 滷豬內臟 Braised Pig Innards.  

Fun findings: While "內臟料理 Offal" recipes may not be the cup of tea even for every Chinese; for the reasons of Organ meats contain a lot of 膽固醇 cholesterol (especially the liver and heart) as well as many people are afraid to eat liver or kidney because these organs 過濾毒素 filter toxins in the body.  But Organ meats are also highly nutritious meat which are rich in B-族維生素 B-vitamins as well as 礦物質 Minerals. One interesting thinking for some Chinese to eat Organ meats is that by eating foods that resemble certain organs you can strengthen those organs (以形補形); for example by 以腎補腎 eating kidney you can strengthen your kidneys, and by eating chicken feet you can strengthen your feet! Not sure about eating Animal brains (as it sounds like a Zombie thing), but Pork brain is popular as a delicacy dish in parts of China and even in South India, 羊腦咖哩 goat brain curry or 油炸羊腦 fry is a delicacy. And in Malaysia, 雞內臟 Chicken and 牛內臟 Cow innards are common dishes in 馬來雜飯攤 Malay mixed rice stalls. 

And where it comes to Organ meats, some cultures and perhaps more of the Western societies, offal/organ meat are valued less than cuts of animal muscle because it looks unappetizing when raw and often has strong flavors. Another reason is that probably meat has generally been more affordable in the Rich nations and fewer people had to eat offal. That is why that when it comes to Organ meat recipes, maybe Westerners have a double standard about Organ meats. Because around the world, the animal organs of Duck/Goose Liver is among the most expensive foods. While maybe most Westerners can't stomach or ever to hear about eating Organ meats like liver, brains, or animal feet or animal tongues; some Western cultures especially some European countries have along history of organ meat culture. For example, French people's "鵝肝 Foie gras" (Goose/Duck fatty liver) where the liver of a goose or duck that has been fattened by a process of force-feeding before they are slaughtered, is considered a delicacy of the French cuisine. And in KL, a meal of "鵝肝 Foie gras" and a glass of wine will probably set you back from rm$200 - rm$400! 

Today's "滷水豬雜飯 Stewed pork innards w/Rice" where the stewed pork innards are probably a type of "滷水" Recipe, and very much a 中國粵菜 Cantonese style cooking. Then again "潮州滷水" is also an important element of 潮州菜 Chaozhou Cuisines. And 滷味食品 has a long history of popularity among many Chinese in 廣東 Guangdong, 香港 Hong Kong, Fujian 福建, and 台灣 Taiwan. "滷水 Lu Shui" or "滷汁 Lu Zhi" or "滷湯 Lu Tang" is the main character of the dish, that makes the unique taste of whatever meat cooked using it; but many Chefs of either Cantonese or Fuzhou people have their own secret combinations of spices to make the "Good soup/gravy" that leaves customer wanting more. Because it is generally believed that the longer the "滷汁 Lu Zhi"  is used, the more gravy essence of the previous food can be absorbed, making the "滷汁 Lu Zhi"  more tasty and more delicious. That is why some shops retain the "陳年滷水 Chen Nian Lu Zhi", to filter and separate its residue, and add soy sauce and spices to maintain the original recipe of the "滷汁 Lu Zhi". The story goes that some 3rd generation "滷水檔 Lu Shui specialty shop" have kept the same tank of "used 滷汁 Lu Zhi" to cook the meat for more than 60 or even 70 years. However, 大學研究 university studies in 香港 Hong Kong and 台灣 Taiwan have pointed out that repeated heating and cooking of meat in the same "陳年滷水 Chen Nian Lu Zhi"for a long time will produce 膽固醇氧化產物 carcinogenic cholesterol oxidation products, thereby increasing the risk of 癌 cancer and 心臟病 heart disease

Thoughts: Was told that typical Sabah Pork Noodle is served with Dry noodles (of rat noodle, beehoon, or kuay teow) with the pork plus pork innards and soup in a separate bowl; of course, the soup variant is also available. The few pieces of crunchy pork lard was a good final touch to the dry noodle; but wasn't too impressed with this one served by a hawker stall in SS24's Restoran Megah Good Luck. 
The kopitiam is one that certainly try very hard to follow the social distancing rules with strict requirement for contract tracing, temperature check and distanced tables. But for now, maximum 5 customers can be allowed per table! All of the hawkers stalls are now re-positioned in an "island" inside the kopitiam, and as usual no outdoor seating are allowed yet as of today.
