Thoughts: There are 2 promotion runs in Secret Recipe; one is the Lunch promotion for meals plus beverages for rm$19.50 to rm$22+ which runs from 12:00pm to 03:00pm. Another one is the Tea Time special that offers a free beverage for any cakes or pastries; choice of beverages are either black/white coffee or tea, and pastry is just the 康瓦爾餡餅 Cornish while a lot of cake choices. 

There used to be two D24 Durian flavored cakes: the Durian Fromage which is a 乳酪蛋糕 cheese cake and the Absolute Durian which is a 海綿蛋糕 sponge cake. For today afternoon, looks like only the Absolute Durian is available! 

For 康瓦爾餡餅 Cornish, there are usually 2 flavors: the Original and the Spicy variant. When ordering, customer can always ask for the Cornish to be heated either for Dine-in or Take-away. The rm$9 Cornish, great to be consumed when it is warmed and very filling savory pastry. 

Fun facts: It seemed like the 康瓦爾餡餅 Cornish is a British baked pastry, and particularly associated with 康沃爾 Cornwall, 英國 United Kingdom, somewhat is regarded as the National dish of 康沃爾 Cornwall. The 康沃爾餡餅 Cornish pasty, which is a hardy meal itself as a pastry comprising meat (usually beef or in today's case chicken meat), potatoes, and other good things well cooked and made up into portable form. In the mid 19th century or earlier, it is a packed meal for those who worked at a distance in the fields from their homes. It is believed that Sailors from Cornwall have brought along this pastry to countries not just in Europe but around the world including 澳大利亞 Australia, 新西蘭 New Zealand, 墨西哥 Mexico, the 美國 United States. The "泡芙狀 Puff like" pastry is like a "Giant savory Puff" compared to the Indian "印度咖哩餃 Samosa" or the South east Asian "東南亞咖哩泡芙 Curry Puffs".

Thoughts: Since the disappointment on their Original Chicken Cornish in Aug 31 2017, have never been to USJ10's Secret Recipe since then. And After a disappointed dinner at Uncle Don, at least the "巧克力奶酪浆果 Chocolate Cheese Berries" saved the day, surprisingly Chocolate+Cheese+Berry isn't such a bad combination!

原味雞肉派 Original Chicken Cornish $8.80

Thoughts: Secret Recipe is generally known for its cakes since 1997, not just cakes but fine quality premium cakes of a higher price even when it started way back 20 years ago. At that time, generally most neighbouring cake shops are selling cake slices at $2++ but Secret Recipe's cake sare already around $5++ at that time. Now of course, a slice of Secret Recipe cake is around $10++. 
It is however, one of the longerst running cake shop at Taipan. The other one is Berry at USJ 10/1E. But nowadyas, even neighbourhood cake shops like Berry are also selling cake slices at prices of $6 or $7 above. 
One of the recipes I enjoyed was the Original Chicken Cornish where the crust used to be thinner and crispier. Somehow, today's version was thick and kind of soggy despite I asked them to reheat in the microwave/oven. The Secret Recipe's Cornish is stuffed with "pulled chicken" (like cheese LOL) and not cubes which can be found maybe in our local Curry Puffs! 
For the price of one Secret Recipe's Cornish, one can buy maybe 5-6 small curry puffs! Elsewhere in SS2, there are also Large size Curry Puffs (with boild egg inside) which are also much cheaper (maybe $2.50 or $3 per piece); haven't tried those for awhile. 
Still, Secret Recipe still is one of the larger Cafe Chain (if not the largest) Halal-Certified restaurant by JAKIM in Malaysia. Interestly, it has over 400 locations around Asia including Australia, Singapore, China, Indo-China, and Thailand.
