Unfortunately, the popular Nasi Ambeng is only available after 11am for Lunch onwards only. Settled with a rm$9.50 "斑斕風味椰漿飯配蘇東 Nasi Lemak Pandan Sotong". Excellent 斑斕風味椰香飯 Pandan + Coconut flavored rice with the usual 黃瓜片 cucumber slices, 炸花生 fried nuts, 炸江魚仔 fried anchovies, excellent 叁峇蘇東 sambal sotong on the side, with the rice topped with more 參巴醬 spicy sambal. 

Looking forwards for some of "Lontong & Such's" unique dishes like the "Lontong Kering", "Soto Nasi", "Soto Mee Kuning", and definitely the Netizen recommended "Nasi Ambeng" which probably have to be here around lunch time for these popular items of the Malay Café.

Thoughts: Was here on October 1 for SS9 "Lontong and Such" Cafe's signature 隆東 Lontong, and today for breakfast is a rm$8 "馬來薄烤餅 Lempeng", Lempeng Kelapa with 叁巴醬 Sambal, excellent! 

Lempeng is a 類似煎餅 Pancake-like dish that is cooked using batter as the main ingredient on a hot flat surface. The batter is usually made from wheat flour or rice flour, mixed with water and a little salt, sometimes eggs as well. AND today's rm$5.50 "馬來椰子風味薄烤餅 Lempeng Kelapa's" batter has the extra ingredient of 椰奶 Santan Air Kelapa (Coconut Milk and Coconut Water)! Interestingly goes very well with Sambal sauce. 

One of the signature dishes looking forward to sample by "Lontong & Such" is their 安班飯 Nasi Ambeng BUT it is only available around 11am or later.

Thoughts: 隆冬 Lontong (very much like "Ketupat" or "方塊飯 Nasi Impit") is said to be an 印尼菜 Indonesian dish made of compressed rice cake (as a staple food replacement of steamed rice) in the form of a cylinder wrapped inside a banana leaf, commonly found in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. How 隆冬 Lontong is served in Indonesia maybe different than that of in Malaysia, as here 隆冬 Lontong usually refers a dish which consists of rice cakes in a coconut based soup such as with 蝦 shrimp and 蔬菜 vegetables like chopped 捲心菜 cabbage, and 胡蘿蔔 carrots. 

Today's breakfast is a rm$9.50 "爪哇隆冬配蘇東 Lontong Jawa w/Squid", nice thick creamy and coconutty gravy with veggies that are not overcooked, with generous Lontong cubes plus 煮雞蛋 boiled egg as well as 蘇東 sotong (魷魚 squid), with delicious 叁巴 sambal; and I think some 椰絲肉鬆 serunding kelapa as well. So, today is a 爪哇風格的隆冬 Jawa style Lontong with either a soup choice or dry variant (Lontong Kering) from rm$7 to rm$14.50. The meat choice are 炸肺 Paru Goreng, 魷魚 Sotong, and 炸雞餡 Isi Ayam goreng. 

SS9's "Lontong & Such" is one of those unassuming eateries, hidden among the residential houses in SS9 (Sungei Way). The restaurant is a corner shop lot with indoor and outdoor seating, although parking maybe slightly tricky (7:45am - 8:30am is probably easier parking along the road sides of the houses near the shop). Besides Lontong, the restaurant also offers signature 馬來煎餅配參巴酱 Lempeng with sambal, 椰漿飯 Nasi Lemak, 安班飯 Nasi Ambeng, 酸辣料理 Asam Pedas, and 印尼雞湯麵 Soto. 

Looking forward to sample Lontong & Such's Lempeng, Nasi Lemak for Breakfast BUT for Nasi Ambeng probably only available from lunch onwards!
