Thoughts: As of today in August 2026, The Brew House is fully operational nationwide across Malaysia, including the local The Brew House Ipoh branch located at Greentown. Current offerings feature ongoing beer promotions (Sapporo and Connor's giveaways) running through September 2026, alongside their everyday fusion menu and rm$14.80 Value Lunch deals. Unfortunately the deal is not for Dinner.

Both The Brew House and Uncle Don's are popular, casual neighborhood restaurant-bars and bistros in Malaysia known for serving a wide mix of Western and Asian comfort food alongside affordable draught beer, though they differ slightly in positioning and pricing. The DUO can usually be spotted competing with each other in the same neighborhood; and similar here in Ipoh where they operate practically next-door neighbors on Jalan Dato Seri Ahmad Said. 

Uncle Don's founded by Mr Ian Ong Ming Hock and Don Daniel Theseira, which started in 2015 with its first outlet in SS2, Petaling Jaya. The Brew House founder is Mr Robert Hew, which started in 2017 with its first store opening also in SS2, Petaling Jaya. The Brew House has more outlets in Malaysia than Uncle Don's. The Brew House operates around 39 locations, while Uncle Don's lists about 25 total locations on its official branch network; However, there seemed to be 4 Uncle Don in Perak but only 1 Brew House which is only in Ipoh, Perak!

Thoughts: Jiu Guan 1.0 Restaurant and Bar 酒馆1.0 (formerly known as Sip And Chill Restaurant and Bar) in Bandar Puteri, Puchong serves a diverse menu blending 東西方美食 Eastern and Western cuisine, plus 酒吧小吃 pub bites perfect for pairing with alcohol. Highlights include 招牌豬頸肉 Signature Pork Collar, 挪威鮭魚 Norwegian Salmon, 蛤蜊燴飯 Alle Vongole, and 鹹蛋雞排 Salted Egg Chicken Chop. They also offer casual staples like 雞肉漢堡 chicken burgers, 豬肉漢堡 pork burgers, and 魚肉漢堡 fish burgers, sweet & sour rice meals, and a full beverage selection.

I like to think that other items in the menu could be better choice! 

Draft Beer is expensive for single mug (of 1/2 pint) at rm$21 and For 9 mugs is m$128 (which is rm$14 per mug) for happy hours before 8pm AND 5 bottles bucket is rm$85 (which is rm$17 per bottle). Therefore definitely a watering hole for group gathering in a sports bar setting. 

Jiu Guan 1.0 (formerly Sip and Chill) in Puchong officially started operations as an upgraded and relocated venue on November 18, 2025 at 2, Jalan Puteri 5/5, Bandar Puteri, Puchong. It is at a prominent corner shop lot location facing Persiaran Puteri 1, and walking distance from Putri Mart of Stellar Office Suite.
