USJ9's Sushi Mentai was replaced by Sushi ZenS and looks like recent weeks USJ10's Washoku will be replaced by Sushi Toyo!

Both Sushi ZenS and the Washoku (possibly replaced by Sushi Toyo according to tenants nearby) are the only 2 of the 5 Japanese Restaurants that offers Conveyor belt Sushi plates dining option. USJ9's Sushi Zens is a single shop lot with the Conveyor and food preparation area in the middle of the shop lot and tables around the Conveyor. The Cleanliness and Services are generally acceptable at both shops (so far). Looks like Sushi ZenS increase the price of the basic blue plate from rm$1.80 to rm$1.99 (before the 10% service tax), all other "Color" plates also increased rm$0.19 each plate as well!

The meaning of ''新 SHIN しん'' is ''NEW'' and according to their facebook, 江戶世紀壽司 Edomae century, sushi was named by as ''ZUSHI''. BUT another meaning is that while the word "壽司 Sushi" is used when the variety is not specified while if the "S" in sushi is replaced by a "Z" when used to refer to specific type of Sushi dish where a prefix is attached at the front like "卷壽司 Maki-Zushi" or "稻荷(豆皮)壽司 Inari-Zushi",  Since 2014, 新壽司 SHIN ZUSHI served a variety of fusion sushi at the same time using 傳統的手工壽司 traditional hand-made sushi method.

Today's Japanese set lunch is a rm$22 "ニバラと鳥セット Mini Bara No Tri Zen", and additional rm$1 with a 茶碗蒸 Chawanmushi (although it was too salty today). BUT the rm$22 set comes with a bowl of 西瓜 Water melon fruit, 日式芝麻沙拉 Salad with Japanese sesame dressing, 味噌湯 Miso soup, a plate of at else 4 large pieces of 照燒雞脯 Terriyaki Chicken, and a bowl of rice with a small variety of Salad sitting on 生菜 fresh lettuce and topped with 白姜 pickled ginger, some 玉子焼き Tamagoyaki, as well as 魚卵 Fish roe. AND for rm$22, for the combinations is definitely value for money!

Thoughts: Surprisingly, the rm$16 "鮭魚皮沙拉 Salmon Skin Sarada" was quite good; wonderful with the mixed thousand island sauce. While the rm$28 "新サーモンセット Shin Salmon Teishoku" wasn't disappointing with the fresh Sashimi and torched Salmon sushi, the set meal also comes with Chawanmushi with some miso soup, little bowl of salad and fruits.
新壽司 Shin Zushi Bar, since its opening just a few months ago has become a popular lunch and dinner destination; often seen with customer queuing for a table outside its restaurant.
