Thoughts: Clear soup with very good signature home-made fish balls, USJ Taman Subang Permai's single row of shops in the middle of the light industrial factories offers this shop called "友記西刀魚丸粉 You Fishball Noodles". Today is dry 老鼠粉 Loh Si Fun that comes with bean sprouts and pork lard, topped with some dark sweet sauce. Parking here is usually quite easy throughout the day.

The noodle shop uses "西刀 Ikan Parang (Wolf Herring)" or "Sai Dou" in Cantonese  as the main fish meat for making their signature fish balls. Wolf Herring is a common fish found in wet markets in Malaysia, and is one of the most popular type of fish to be made into Fish Balls. The fish meat if treated properly, gives the Fish Ball a fairly “bouncy” texture, whether handmade or machine-made. 友記 You Kee's fish balls are all made daily from the Deep Sea 西刀 Ikan Parang without 防腐劑 preservatives or 硼砂 borax.

Thoughts: Last or First visit here was January 22nd 2010 (about 1.5 before MCO1.0 lockdown)! The basic 魚丸清湯粉 Fish ball noodle is the same price of rm$7.50 as of 20 months ago. The basic bowl comes with the shops signature 魚丸 Fish ball and 魚餅 Fish cake slices with some 腐竹 Fu Chuk. Customer can have choice of 清湯 soup noodle, 干撈 dry, or 咖哩 curry with either 粿條 kuey teow, 米粉 bihun, 黃麵 yellow mee, or 老鼠粉 loh si fun. For Add-ons, ordered 魚鰾 Fish Maw at rm$2.50 for 4 fairly large pieces.

Thoughts: It's clear soup style fish paste/fish ball noodles here. The restaurant claims to serve very fresh home-made fish products as such as 鱼丸 fish ball, 鱼鲛 fish dumplings, 鱼饼 fish cakes, 腐竹 Foo Chuk, and 鱼膘 fish Maw. Available are clear soup, dry or curry broth and noodle types are either 米粉 beehoon, 粿条 koay teow, 面 yellow noodles, or 老鼠粉 rat noodles.
My breakfast today was their signature clear fish soup noodle at rm$7.50 which comes with 4-5 pc of 鱼丸 fish ball, 1 pc of 鱼鲛 fish dumpling, maybe 6-8 slices of 鱼饼 fish cake, 1 pc of foo chuk, lots of 白菜 cabbage and 葱 green scallions with beehoon and keow toay on clear soup broth. Also ordered separate bowl of additional 4 pcs of fish dumpling at rm$0.80/pc. All well, fresh and not oily. Not forgetting that the 白果腐竹薏米 Gingko Barley was really very nice (totally not watery at all)
The new branch in Subang's Taman Subang Permai opened not too long ago, looks to be very clean with quite a lot of foreign workers (maybe 7 or 8) in a small shop. You can see the cooking station at the back of the restaurant (partitioned with windows), and its is also fully air-conditioned.
