Thoughts: KL's Avenue K showcase "風車 Pinwheels" as the main theme for 2022 Chinese New Year decorations. The use of the Pinwheels as the theme for this year CNY decoration is probably quite appropriate (hopeful for the Pandemic recovery) as In Chinese culture, for example, the 風車 pinwheel signifies “轉機 turning one's luck around”; the pinwheel figures prominently in 農曆新年 Chinese New Year celebrations where it is represents 好運 good luck, 長壽 longevity, 健康health and 繁榮 prosperity.

A 風車 pinwheel is a simple child's toy made of a wheel of paper or plastic curls attached at its axle to a stick by a pin. It is designed to spin when blown upon by a person or by the wind. It is a predecessor to more complex "Whirligigs". The first inventor of the "旋風車 Whirligig", or "風車 Pinwheel", is not known. However, history does indicate wind-driven Whirligigs existed in 中國 China in 400 BC and in the 薩珊帝國 Sasanian Empire by 700 AD, with the use of 風車 Windmills.

Pinwheels may have arrived in America by way of immigrants from Europe, and it the toy was modernized and popularized as a children's toy by an 亞美尼亞移民 Armenian immigrant 玩具製造商 toy manufacturer, Tegran M. Samour in 1919, in 波士頓 Boston, 馬薩諸塞州 Massachusetts. Mr Samour sold them as "Wind wheels" (as "Pinwheels" were initial called as "Wind wheels") along with two other toys which he invented, which provided many children with numerous hours of enjoyment as the wind-driven toy will turning faster and faster when held aloft by a running child.

So, the “Auspicious” pinwheels will hopefully blow away all the bad lucks that have descended on earth, and bring good fortune to all. Like the word "福 Fu" where this Chinese character means “財富 fortune” or “祝福 blessing.” When the word "福 Fu" is Turned upside down and some Chinese will display it like so on gates and doors to their homes, signifying that “好運來了 Luck has arrived.”

Thoughts: Korea's No 1 Sandwich Toast Brand "Isaac Toast & Coffee" has been opening since I think around 2018. I believe on of their first store was in KLIA2 (in fact Gateway KLIA2 is its first venture in South East Asia), but since then the Brand have opened many locations in Klang Valley, most if not all are inside major shopping malls. In Korea, "Isaac Toast & Coffee" has more than 800 stores and one of the Korea's most popular sandwich destination.
The store at KL Avenue K (stone throw away from the KLCC LRT Station), offers 8 variants of Sandwiches for either Ala Carte or Sets with Coffee/Tea. You can also add-on Cheese, Ham, Bacon, Egg, Hashbrown or even Kimchi for rm$2 - rm$3. Prices of the Sandwiches are from rm$10 - rm$19!
A small store with visible kitchen and counter takes half of the shop lot, and the rest are dine-in tables. Take-away is probably a popular choice for hurried office workers getting of the train on the way to offices nearby.

Thoughts: The restaurant name " Ipoh Market Street 怡保馬吉街" where on 10th December 2017, I sampled their "馬吉街咖哩米粉麵 Ipoh Curry Mee, 怡保加央甬 Ipoh Kaya Puff and 怡保白咖啡冰 Ipoh Ice White Coffee" with very positive experience. That's more than 2 years ago!
Coming back for dinner to sample their 菠菜 TokTok面 Spinach Noodle, with 卤牛筋 Braised Beef Tendon and 卤猪耳 Braised Pig Ear. The combo side of either rm$10.90 or rm$12.90 offers choices of Noodle/Rice with 2 other items (from a list of 29 items). Enjoyed the dinner today before taking the LRT back home!
