Thoughts: I think I am at CocoLab for at least around 1.5 - 2 hours. Miss Carmen was very patient in explaining benefits of Coconut oil, she is 69 and has consumed the product for many years. She looks vibrant and energetic at her age. She is a Philipino married to a Malaysian!
The entire foundation of this product is based on VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil). It seems that VCO is the solution for diseases such as 骨质疏松症 osteoporosis, 痔疮 hemorrhoids, 癌症 cancer, 糖尿病 diabetes, 牛皮癣 psoriasis, 胆囊疾病 gall bladder disease, 膀胱感染 bladder infections, 流感 flu and many other health problems.
I was interested in the ANH-VCO's "ANH"? ANH means Absolute No Heat, which is CocoLab's pioneering technology in extraction process from the Coconut Nut without destroying its nutrients. The Technology is to prevent "over-processing" (much like over cooking food with too much heat) so as to lock the "natural nutrients" in the final product. It claims that there are no added additives, enzymes, bacteria or chemicals throughout the whole process.
I think there are 3 main variants:
1. Oil-based
2. Capsule-based
3. Gel-based (much like peanut butter)
I would think that the Capsule-variant would fit me better (clean and convenient), and Carmen recommend the "ANH-VCO Softgell + Vitamin E + Lycopene" capsule variant. It comes with Vitamin E as well (which I suppose is good for balancing cholesterol, hormone balance, and vision improvement), this I like.
番茄红素 "Lycopene" (a pigment in tomate that is resposible in the red color of tomatos) is a 癌症预防植物营养素 Cancer-preventative Phytonutrient. From the chinese name, it is commonly found in tomatos (thats why one of the oil-based variant is red color). Research says that it has 7 benefits:
1. 抗氧化剂 Antioxidant (to prevent and fight diseases)
2. 有助于预防癌症 Helps to prevent Cancer (including breast & prostate cancer)
3. 保持眼睛健康 Keeps the Eyes healthy (prevent oxidative stress to the eyes and delay/prevent cataract)
4. 减轻神经性疼痛 Alleviates Neuropathic Pain.
5. 对大脑有好处 Good for your Brain. (Alzheimer’s)
6. 改善心脏健康 Improves Heart Health (High Blood Pressure and Coronary Heart Disease).
7. 保持你的骨骼坚强 Keeps Your Bones Strong (Helps relieve oxidative stress in bones that cause brittle and weak bone structure)
From the list of benefits (at least consistently from few websites), So far it strongly interest me as a supplement to replace my current supplement (multi-vitamin by Pharmaton)!
番茄红素 Lycopene - this little molecule was first isolated in 1910, and the full molecule structure was discovered in 1931. It is produced by plants as a defense against environmental damage, such as pests, toxins and UV damage. Instead of allowing free radicals to run free within the plant, it creates various types of 植物营养素 phytonutrients to protect itself. I suppose it is one of natures healing and protection mechasim.
So, the "ANH-VCO Softgell + Vitamin E + Lycopene" does seem very promising and perhaps I will a little bit more about Coconut Oil and make a decision soon. Some time ago I did stumble upon an article discussing the types of people who should not consume coconut oil or to consume it with caution; so I want to find out more of this first as well.
Some of the concerns/questions I have are:
1. Suitability for which type of people.
2. What is the appropriate dossage.
3. Any dependency if suddently stop taking it.
4. Suitability to be consumed together with my Hypertension pills (Exforge 10mg/160mg).
The in-take recommendation from Miss Carmen is morning 2 capsules before breakfast and 2 capsules at night before sleep. So, the 150 capsules should last about 40 days. Carmen also suggest it is possible to consule the capsules in the morning and the oil-variant in the evenings!
According to the bottle specifications, the product is manufactured by Nova Labs (click to Map of factory at Sepang). The company was incorporated in 1989 and soon in 2002, it obtained approval of the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) of the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia to market and sell our Hepar-P Capsule (植物"胶囊"提取物 Plant-based extract). In 2001, it was appointed as an anchor company under the National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) Programme to develop ‘High-Value Herbal" based products. However, interesting that I am not able to locate the CocoLab products at its website. My hunch is that CocoLab OEM the manufacturing process to Nova as CocoLab presently do not yet have manufacturing capabilities.

Cocoscience Biotech Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian-based company set up for the purpose of manufacturing fine quality Cocoscience Premium ANH-VCO. And Cocoscience Biotech Sdn Bhd likely OEM the manufacturing of their products to Nova Lab Sdn Bhd.
