Thoughts: Back for a Nasi Kukus lunch at "Kafe Abe Yus", it is a rm$7 "馬來烝飯 Nasi Kukus". Similar to the Nasi Lemak Pandan breakfast this morning; the Nasi Kukus also comes in a Malay Bamboo try but the concoction is a simple one with white rice, cucumber, onions, and most importantly curry sauce and additional special sambal sauce. Added 2 pieces of 素炸春捲 Vegetarian Spring Roll at rm$2.50 each as side dish to the Nasi Kukus! 

Originating from 吉蘭丹 Kelantan, Malaysia, "馬來烝飯 Nasi Kukus" is a traditional Malaysian delicacy characterized by its distinctive steamed rice. Meticulously cooked in individual 鋁碗 Aluminum bowls over large steamers, the rice is usually served piping hot with a mix of flavorful Curries, Sambals, and side dishes.

Thoughts: The original location of this "Warisan Nasi Kukus Kebun Sultan" is in Kelantan's Kota Bharu along the street called Jalan Kebun Sultan. According to their Website, Before the term "Nasi Kukus", it was famously recognized as "Zakini Nasi Kukus" which has its name from Kelantanese Chef Ahmad Zukhi and Kak Ani in 1972. And it was not until 2002 that their son rebranded "Zakini Nasi Kukus" to "Nasi Kukus". From a humble stall in front of Hospital Besar Kota Bharu, it now offers Franchising and has over 30 stalls/shops in Selangor and KL.

"Warisan Nasi Kukus Kebun Sultan" offers a single dish of Nasi Kukus with a whole deep fried chicken leg, not dry but crispy in the outside and somewhat juicy in the inside; perhaps one of the better Malay style fried chicken recipe in town. The package also comes with a fried egg, especially like the specially treated anchovies and cucumber salad. It is best to have it in the restaurant with the steaming hot Nasi Kukus right out from its pot and a hot cuppa of local coffee. There are 2 kinds sambal, one spicy and another one super spicy.

Thoughts: Sudden crave for East-Coast cooking, Google search reveals a recommendation of early morning Nasi Dagang at SS21's "Capitol Nasi Dagang Kelantan"! Arriving at 8:30am, and MBPJ parking in SS21 already challenging even during the CMCO period. (Noting that the CMCO may be extended at least until end of the year!)

"Capitol Nasi Dagang Kelantan" was originally from 哥打巴魯 Kota Bahru and decided to branch out into 巴生谷 Klang valley, and has now been 7+years in Damansara Utama in one of the shops facing the trunk road of SS21/1, and 2-4 minutes walk from Starling Mall; but the nearest LRT station is maybe the TTDI LRT station which is at least 1km distance. You can also park inside Starling Mall (rm$1/hour) but I think parking for 1 hour or less is still FREE for the Mall parking.

The 東海岸馬來美食 East-Coast Malay cuisine restaurant is owned and operated by a 吉蘭丹華人 Kelantanese Chinese family. Didn't looked at their menu (perhaps next time), but directly just order the 達崗飯 Nasi Dagang which is already available at 8:30am. The restaurant offers 達崗飯 Nasi Dagang, 吉蘭丹藍花飯 Nasi Kerabu, 馬來"婚禮"飯 Nasi Kahwin, 馬來飯 Nasi Berlauk, 椰漿飯 Nasi Lemak, 吉蘭丹"叻叁"叻沙 Laksam Kelantanese Laksa, a swell as a variety of Roti; you may want to make a call to the Restaurant to reserve or check-out if the food item is available on that day of visit!

In the weekends, "Capitol" offers a Thai-style Nasi Kerabu called "泰國青葉飯 Khaw Jam" and only 20 servings per day. The 泰式達崗飯 Thai-style Nasi Kerabu or "Khaw-Jam", something perhaps commonly known by the 吉蘭丹土生華人 Kelantanese Peranakan Chinese is coloured blue rice or dyed blue rice using 蝴蝶豌豆花 butterfly-pea flowers and typically mixed with "Budu" (鳳尾魚醬 anchovies sauce)’, spices, vegetable, 切碎鯖魚 grated/shredded mackerel and coconut. That all sounds to be quite interesting!

達崗飯 Nasi Dagang really does literally means "Trading Rice". It is a National Food Heritage, well-known in the states on the 馬來西亞半島東海岸 East Coast of the Peninsular Malaysia, such as 登嘉樓 Terengganu and 吉蘭丹 Kelantan and 泰國南部 Southern Thailand. The breakfast today, the rm$10.90 "達崗飯 Nasi Dagang (or literally 'Trading Rice')" comes with a really good and large piece of 金槍魚 Ikan Tongkol (Mackarel Tuna) comes with not too spicy and tasty 咖哩 Gulai. The star of the dish is the amazing tasty Gulai for the Kalantanese steamed rice and Mackarel; the sides are simple boiled egg, mixed vegetable of 酸黃瓜和胡蘿蔔 cucumber carrots and a little bit of 桑巴醬 sambal. Personally will not hesitate to come back for this Nasi Dagang in the future.

Thoughts: Shah Alam Seksyen 10's "Hatinie" offers great food again; from Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Dagang, Satay (from morning), mixed rice variety (buffet style), Laksam, Noodles, Malay desserts etc. Packed with customers this morning! 
Nasi Kerabu offers the usual blue rice with salted egg and raw vegetables (lots of bean sprouts and cabbage slides) on the side; for meat its choice of either grilled chicken, grilled fish or "daging (I think roasted beef". Topped with fried keropok (crackers) and I think "sambal kelapa" and other spicy sauce! An excellent rm$8 concoction, definitely worth sampling.
