Current Statistics is with Total Infected as at 29 is 558,545 cases and Total Death at 2,650. With these numbers, Authorities reveals the Daily infections will exceed 10,000 very soon, and the country should brace for the worst and it hasn't reach the peak. (Coronavirus World meter)

In a newspaper (Malay Mail) report, the PM revealed that Malaysia has incurred an estimated RM63 billion losses since the Movement Control Order (MCO) came into force on March 18. With an estimated RM2.4 billion daily, another lock-down will be devastating to the Economic impact. It is said that the people's livelihood will be affected, but what is livelihood without life itself; and that is likely why the new announcement of a Full-down from June 1 to June 14 (a 14 days period).

MCO#3.0 (extended full lockdown 01.June - 14.June) new SOP:
(for 100% accuracy, refer to the latest SOP-AM-PKP published by the Authorities)
Cross-District travels not allowed.
Maximum 2 person in a Car. (but 3 for those going for Medical help)
All sectors will not be allowed to operate (Except Essential economic and Service sectors).
Land and Sea Transport to be reduce to 50% of its Capacity.
Businesses including eateries and roadside stalls operation hours reduced (8am - 8pm).
Convenience stores, pet shops, veterinary clinics, car wash operators, barber shops (8am - 8pm).
Optical shops and laundromats (8am - 8pm).
Pharmacies and Clinics (8am - 10pm).
Petrol station (6am - 8pm).
Highway Petrol stations (24 hours).
Morning and Wet Market (6am - 2pm).
Pasar Malam (4pm - 10pm).
Mall and Shopping Complex (8am - 8pm) (only for Essential Businesses)

Public Section (80% work from Home except the Frontliners).
Private Sector (40% work from Home).
Mosque and Surau (looks to be prohibited) (not sure).
Picnicking and outdoor photography is not allowed.

An increase of roadblocks will be enforced at all roads.

 

Despite the governments repeat reiterations that there will be enough essential item supply during MCO3.0. It is estimated that there will be Panic buying to hoard essential foods during this weekend before commencement of the planned full lockdown starting June 1 which is next week Tuesday. Many states also began to see the shortages or out of stock for supply of surgical masks, causing prices to skyrocket (thanks for greedy and opportunistic business people).

Malaysia’s health authorities have warned the public to “prepare for the worst” as Covid-19 cases climbed rapidly despite what claimed to be thus far "strict containment measures". Despite the second year of "Banned Balik Kampong" trips; some blamed the recent trends and spikes was caused by the not so legal "Hari Raya Balik Kampong trips" to celebrate the festivities or other ethnicity that took the opportunity to visit their family too during the same period. Others say that the Rakyat should not be blamed because the Authorities and some Politicians did not do their job or even did not show "Good Behavior by example". BUT regardless of the "Blame Game", everything seemed to be already TOO LATE. As can be seen by the recent message from Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah's (Malaysia’s director-general of health), who tweeted this week that the country’s daily infections are “following an exponential trend” and could trigger a “vertical surge.” And the country is now the worst-hit country in Southeast Asia, after Indonesia and the Philippines.


The Malaysian government's plans to vaccinate 80 per cent of its population by the end of this year but so far only about 5 per cent (or less) have received at least one dose. The slow progress of Vaccination can, some say; can be attributed to many "human factor" reasons of which much has been written in the Web. While the "mySejahtera" looks impressive on your phone or computer for Vaccine Registration, but it apparently did not cut time and process, with the slow Vaccine roll-out and administering the essential Jabs. All this, coupled with the healthcare workers have been experiencing not just exhaustion, but depression and fatigue; not to mention the high-risk environment they are subjecting themselves to everyday!  

Incidentally the new June 1-14 Lockdown MCO3.0 is called 
"Survive to restart package"

Covid-19 Vaccine Registration

Thoughts: Today is 434 days since the 第一次鎖城 first lock-down in March 18, 2020. 
And there are the 行動管制領 MCO dates:
MCO#1.0 (18.March.2020 - 16.May.2020) 60 days 
MCO#2.0 (22.Jan.2021 - 18.Feb.2021) 27 days 
MCO#3.0 (06.May.2021 - 06.June 2021) 32 days (current plan) 
And it is 18 days since the first day of MCO3.0 started 06.May.2021. Looking at today's statistics, one has to wonder what is happening to the country when many (of maybe some only) of us are following all of the SOPs recommended. The Country has gone from good to bad to worst with average over 6,500+ cases in a single day, and over 40+ deaths in a day. We are now above 500,000 total cases as of May 23, 2021; and the Malaysian state of Selangor alone had around 165,000 coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed cases, which is the highest in the country. The state of Selangor is currently experiencing the worst outbreak of COVID-19 in Malaysia.
The Statistics are not promising as everyone is also facing Coronavirus fatigue! Since the government launched of the National Covid-19 Immunization Programmed on Feb 24; but as at April 20, 10 million Malaysians (bout 31% of  the 31.95 million Population) had registered for Vaccination (mostly via the mySejahtera). Unfortunately, very few, have received notifications of scheduled appointments with only 3+% of the Population are vaccinated!

With many Western countries already signed their first agreements with Vaccine manufacturer's as early as the 2nd Quarter of 2020. Malaysia secured its first contract with Pfizer only in November, 2020 for 12.8 million doses. Vaccines are being delivered but in a slow pace; for example about 197k+ from Pfizer in May 19, 44k+ in May 20, 17k+ in May 21. Another 6.4 million awaiting delivery from AstraZeneca (mostly will be for the 60+ age group) and the bulk of the portfolio will come from Pfizer and the bulk of that will start delivery in July.


Besides Pfizer, in March, two other vaccines by Oxford's AstraZeneca and China's Sinovac got its approvals while 2 more are under Clinical Trails. Unfortunately, more than a dozen countries, mostly in Europe, have suspended the use of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine over fears the shot may have caused some recipients to develop blood clots. (as for the early March, more than 17 million people have received the vaccine in the United Kingdom and the European Union to date, with fewer than 40 cases of blood clots reported as of last week: Aljazzera). World Health Organization (WHO) have said that there is no evidence so far that these medical episodes were caused by the vaccination, and that the vaccine should continue being used. In South East Asia: Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, and Singapore have all either halted/delayed or recommended the AZ Vaccine to be administered for selected Age-Group. Due to the "blood-clotting issues", the AstraZeneca vaccine will only be used under a separate registration channel for volunteers. rather than as part of the standard National program. The ministry confirmed recently that those who have received their appointments under the National immunization programme will only be given the Pfizer-BioNTech or Sinovac vaccines.

To date, more than six million Malaysians have registered for the Covid-19 vaccine via the MySejahtera mobile application, but only only 400,000+ doses (mostly front liners) have been fully administered with 2 doses.  And this slow vaccination (to-date only 2% of the population), coupled with the worrying trend in Malaysia; has resulted in the 3rd lock-down ie: MCO3.0 commenced on the 6th of May (about 3 weeks ago). 

Moreover, securing vaccines for many developing countries are no easy task as other Rich and "forward looking" countries have "LOCKed-UP" the bulk of the Vaccines available from the Pharma Giants in order for "them" to reach herd-immunity for all of their citizens first. WHO calls it a "Moral Outrage", the fact that Rich and Developed countries for their actions of pure self-interest. A simple statistics by the World Health Organization (WHO) pointed to showing that one in four people in the developed world have received at least one dose of vaccine, compared with one in 500 for low-income nations (WHO news).
