Food Thoughts: my breakfast/lunch was at around 11am at USJ Factory Food Cour; after the HRV service #2 at the USJ Express Service Center, Car Wash, and then Gym, it was already 4pm. Too late for lunch and too early for dinner but really hungry coming out from the Gym! So, my meal was Texas Chicken.
Interestingly the following are the calory counts of my meal:
2 pcs of Fried Chicken (494 calories)
1 pcs of Honey Butter Biscuits (250 calories)
1 cup of Coleslaw (291 calories)
1 cup of Ice Lemon Tea (132 calories)
Total calories count was 1167 calories!!
My Gym of threadmill walking only burned 200 calories, LOL! That's why I am getting fatter.
Texas Chicken is called "Church's" Fried Chicken in America where it was founded by George W. Church in 1952 in San Antionio, Texas. I am thinking the reasons are quite obvious that it has to sell under another name overseas, hence it is called "Texas" outside North America and Asia. In fact a report last year states that the company Restaurant chain Texas Chicken is expanding its presence in the Middle East with 63 new restaurants! specifically in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Oman, and Bahrain.
In Malaysia, Texas Chicken (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is a unit of Etika Holdings International Ltd. Etika is Malaysia's leading halal beverage manufacturer, distributor, and marketer. Etika is also owns the exclusive franchise of PepsiCo in both Malaysia and Singapore.
From the statistics shown, it now has over 30 locations mostly in the Klang Valley and few in Negeri Sembilan. I believe it also has locations in Penang and Kedah!
