Thoughts: Last visit to PJ's Bean Brothers was Nov 18, 2020. 

Today's Brunch is a rm$28 "土耳其式酸奶水波蛋配土司 Turkish Eggs Clibir", which is basically Egg and Bread/Toast! "Clibir" is an authentic 土耳其風味 Turkish style 水煮嫩蛋 poached egg recipe. And it is Poached eggs placed on 大蒜味 garlic flavored 希臘酸奶 Greek yogurt plus 黃油 butter oil, 醋 vinegar, and 橄欖油 olive oil, interesting!

PJ Bean Brothers 1-page menu isn't extensive, probably the same as the last visit 1.5 years ago; 大早餐  Big Breakfast, 意大利面  Pasta, 雞蛋 + 吐司 Egg + Toast,  羊角麵包 Croissants,  漢堡  Burgers, and 沙拉 Salads. Was told the KL branch (at Jalan Ampang) offers different menu items! 

The PJ Cafe location is hidden in an industrial area within the neighborhood of Sunway Rymba Hills, which is about 1.5km from Persiaran Surian highway (just next to Kota Damansara). Unfortunately, the second floor is still closed as of today, and in fact it was closed maybe since the lock-down on March 2020. The most interesting part of the Factory turned Cafe is that Big Hole of the second floor directly above the Barrista area, the birds eye view from the second floor looking down would be photogenic!

Back to today's "土耳其式酸奶水波蛋配土司 Turkish Eggs Clibir"; apparently, Turkish egg with yogurt recipe is one of those super quick recipes that people make when they don’t have enough time to make a complicated lunch or dinner for their family in Turkey. And on the streets of Turkey, maybe the costs is around 30 Lira (or about rm$8 ringgit); which is just like our Malaysian Kaya Toast+Half Boiled Egg and a cup of coffee! The recipe became a standard recipe during the 奧斯曼時期 Ottoman Empire period (from the 14th century", where "poached eggs doused in garlic-flavored yogurt" means "Clibir" which typically served with Pide bread. 大蒜酸奶醬 Garlic yogurt sauce is a sauce recipe which is mainly mixed with 酸奶 yogurt, 大蒜 garlic, and 檸檬 lemon. This sauce is often used for 沙威瑪 shawarma (something like Kebab meats) or over any meat and makes an excellent alternative to 蛋黃醬 mayonnaise as a spread on toast or dipping sauce especially for spicy food in Turkey!

It is interesting to note that Bean Brothers Coffee Malaysia originates from Korea and that Bean Brothers Korea has a reputation as one of Seoul’s best Café. It all started in 2009, 3 Korean students Seongho Park, Hoonshik Sung and Wonil Nam, who met while studying in Seoul National University in 2009, establish "ABLESQUARE" where initially as a offline/co-working studying Café. As the company grew, the Trio then started their second Brand called "BEAN Brothers" in 2013, where the business is mainly online offering of high quality coffee beans roasted in Korea. Bean Brothers opened their first store in June 2014. Now the team has 7 outlets around South Korea and two more store in Malaysia (KL and PJ branch). 

Netizens and Food Bloggers have positive reviews on the food and ambiance of the Jalan Ampang Bean Brothers. Looking forward to a working day at Bean Brother KL branch, soon.

Thoughts: It would have been great to have a chance to visit KL's Bean Brothers somewhere near Ampang Park along Jalan Tun Razak, but unfortunately CMCO is still restricting inter-district travels. So, today is the 3rd visit to its Bean Brother's PJ branch in Sunway Damansara. Not sure about the KL location, but the parking at the PJ branch is super easy (so far). 
One of the plus point here is that many of the tables offer a 2-socket power point. Morning is less crowded but after lunch seemed busy with the crowd coming to the Cafe not just for working but also for lunch, coffee and cakes. Background music is also slightly louder in the afternoons! But the free high-speed internet connection was excellent so far. So far, an excellent Cafe to get some work done on a notebook.

Today's rm$15 抹茶拿鐵 Matcha Latte (the most expensive hot beverage in the menu), was excellent and probably at "culinary grade"; not too sweet and slight bitterness from the green tea leafs; definitely worth sampling. The Cafe offers 9 items in the Western and Fusion food menu (rm$6 - rm$34), 20+ Coffee and Non-Coffee beverages (rm$12 - rm$15), and 5 Cakes (rm$8 - rm$14).
