Thoughts: Visited this one shop lot Kopitiam December 17.2023 for a rm$10 Vietnamese "法國麵包配豬肉 Pork Baguette" BUT this stall seemed already replaced by a Yong Tao Foo stall as of today. AND today's 2nd visit to this USJ20 Kopitiam is it's Chinese Mix Rice which offers 13-15 dishes with a mix of Meats and Vegetables dishes to go with either 炒米粉 fried bee hoon, 炒飯 fried rice, and 白米飯 white rice. 

Lunch is a rm$6.50 "華人雜飯 Chinese Mixed Rice" with 炒米粉 Fried Bee Hoon, a 滷蛋 Braised Egg, and another dish of 苦瓜燜雞 Bitter Melon Braised Chicken.

USJ20's Multi-hawker stall Kopitiam is the only Kopitiam in USJ20 and USJ21 area (as of today). Since the last visit Oct 15.2022 for a night time 小炒 Xiao Chao AND Dec 19.2021 for a lunch take-away of "豬扒飯 Pork chop rice" in the midst of Covid-19! The night time operator and the morning Taiwanese food stall have both change hands as of today to other operators. 

NEW stall since end of 2022 is likely the "怡保雞絲河粉 Ipoh "Gai See (Chicken)" Hor Fun" (at the back of the shop)! AND of course, 2 of the "popular" hawker stalls here are still in operation: the 華聯咖哩麵/魚丸粉 OUG Curry Mee/Fish Ball Noodle hawker stall's "咖哩麵 Curry Mee" and the 天天雞飯 Chicken Rice stall. 

AND another new stalls since last visit 1 year ago is "阿梅豬腳飯 Pork Throttle Rice" offering 泰式滷豬腳飯 Thai Style Pork Throttle rice, 泰式滷豬嬤嬤麵 Signature Braised Pork Mama Noodle, as well as Ala Cart dishes of 單點滷蛋 Braised Eggs, 單點滷豆腐 Braised Tofu, and 單點泰式滷豬腳 Thai Braised Pork. AND looking forward to sample this hawker stall.

Thoughts: Previously "MeFruit Grocer", the shop lot next to "天天茶餐室 R.A.M Food Corner" is now "家鄉雜菜飯 Jia Xiang Mixed Rice shop". AND looks like the Mixed Rice is available on Sundays (at least for today). AND only the Vietnamese hawker stall is operating today, offering Baguette, Pork or Beef Noodles/Rice dish; all at rm$10. 

What we now call Vietnam was once owned and run by France from the late 1800's to 1954, and Vietnam was part of a French colony called 法屬印度支那 French Indochina. On Sept. 2, 1945, Ho Chi Minh declared the independence of Vietnam from France. The French Colonization of Vietnam left its mark with by bringing in ingredients like potato and asparagus that never existed before in Vietnamese Cuisines. The French also introduced Coffee and the 法國麵包 Baguette to the Vietnamese people. Both the 越南咖啡 Vietnamese Coffee and "越南麵包 Bánh mì" are great examples of how the locals in Vietnam absorbed the French influence; not just accepting what it is but infused their own ingredients and ideas of how the local Vietnamese like to drink and eat their drinks and food.

Thoughts: Last visit to USJ20's "娘惹茶餐室 Restoran Nyonya Goh" was July 12, 2022 and this restaurant opened somewhere in December 2018 and survived the Pandemic via offering Take-aways option for USJ folks. There was this "招牌鴛鴦飯 Signature Yin Yong Rice" at rm$8.50 sampled on Day 416 of the MCO 行動管制領 Covid-19 on May 5, 2021 which I wanted to try again today! The restaurant offers main noodles for breakfast in the morning and "小炒 xiao chao" form lunch onwards.

Unfortunately, the shop lot is now taken over by a new eatery "四大才子燒臘店 4 Superstars Restaurant" for about a month now. The new shop offers 燒臘 Shao La with roasted items like 燒肉 Roasted Pork, 叉燒 Charsiew, and 燒鴨 Roasted Duck  and 燒鴨 Roasted Chicken! from rm$7 to rm$23 with the ultimate 四大天王 Four Combo that comes with all 4 meat choices. Another menu offers 7 vegetables "湯類 Soup type" choices with the 酸辣芥菜 Signature Sour Spicy Vegetables all at rm$7 per portion.

The menu prices are for Meat choices with Rice only, for Wanton Mee will have to add rm$2 and so it is rm$12.50 for today's "叉燒燒肉雲吞麵 Charsiew Roasted Pork Wanton Mee". The plate comes with generous portion of Wanton noodles with good Charsiew and Roasted Pork, on the side are some steamed vegetables and the plate is stopped with 蔥 green onions and 豬油炸 fried pork lard. 

Looking forward to sample the new eateries' signature 燒鴨 Roasted Duck.
