Thoughts: Embarrassed to say that finally found the zest to drive to PJ Old town for an early morning breakfast. At 6:45pm, a little more that surprised to arrive at the junction (exit from Federal Highway) turning to Jalan 222 with only 3-4 cars at the traffic light! Usually this location is a traffic nightmare at this hour of the day.
Parking around 7am around 顺利茶餐室 Soon Lee Coffee Shop was a breeze, the kopitiam already busy with early birds having breakfast and 7 or 8 stalls already serving customers .... Pork/Curry noodle, CheeCheong Fun, Koay Teow Th'ng, Wan Ton Mee, Pan Mee, Char Koay Teow and mixed Vegetarian seems to be available as early as 7am in the morning.
And so, my breakfast today was the "much talked about" 粿條汤 Koay Teow Th'ng here at 顺利茶餐室 Soon Lee Kopitiam. Unlike in Penang where Koay Teow Tng served with Duck meat/pork/chicken can be found too easily not just in kopitiams but also as road side push cart stalls at the heart of Georgetown, but the same hardly can be said about this type of noodle offering in Klang Valley.
At rm$6, quite a generous amount of 鸡丝 chicken slices (I think maybe some 猪肉片 pork meat slices too), 2 鱼丸 fish balls, a little bit of 猪油炸 pork lard plus some sprinkles of 炸蒜葱 fried onions/garlic and 葱 julienne chives on my bowl of flavorful broth with 河粉 hor fun. Many in the web describe the Koay Teow Th'ng here as the best in town and it sets the benchmark for a better bowl of Koay Teow Th'ng, perhaps/maybe or at least in Klang Valley!
