Thoughts: The Stall (forgot the Stall#), operated by Mother and Son duo and has been at the food court for more than 15 years. They use fish bones for the broth, drank almost the entire bowl of broth and not felt thirsty after that. The rm$10 bowl (without Noodle), comes with excellent home-made 肉餅 Meat Patty made of Fish and Pork (very nice) plus excellent fish balls; all are home-made.

USJ20's Multi-hawker stall Kopitiam is the only Kopitiam in USJ20 and USJ21 area (as of today). Since the last visit Oct 15.2022 for a night time 小炒 Xiao Chao AND Dec 19.2021 for a lunch take-away of "豬扒飯 Pork chop rice" in the midst of Covid-19! The night time operator and the morning Taiwanese food stall have both change hands as of today to other operators. 

NEW stall since end of 2022 is likely the "怡保雞絲河粉 Ipoh "Gai See (Chicken)" Hor Fun" (at the back of the shop)! AND of course, 2 of the "popular" hawker stalls here are still in operation: the 華聯咖哩麵/魚丸粉 OUG Curry Mee/Fish Ball Noodle hawker stall's "咖哩麵 Curry Mee" and the 天天雞飯 Chicken Rice stall. 

AND another new stalls since last visit 1 year ago is "阿梅豬腳飯 Pork Throttle Rice" offering 泰式滷豬腳飯 Thai Style Pork Throttle rice, 泰式滷豬嬤嬤麵 Signature Braised Pork Mama Noodle, as well as Ala Cart dishes of 單點滷蛋 Braised Eggs, 單點滷豆腐 Braised Tofu, and 單點泰式滷豬腳 Thai Braised Pork. AND looking forward to sample this hawker stall.

Thoughts: Clear soup with very good signature home-made fish balls, USJ Taman Subang Permai's single row of shops in the middle of the light industrial factories offers this shop called "友記西刀魚丸粉 You Fishball Noodles". Today is dry 老鼠粉 Loh Si Fun that comes with bean sprouts and pork lard, topped with some dark sweet sauce. Parking here is usually quite easy throughout the day.

The noodle shop uses "西刀 Ikan Parang (Wolf Herring)" or "Sai Dou" in Cantonese  as the main fish meat for making their signature fish balls. Wolf Herring is a common fish found in wet markets in Malaysia, and is one of the most popular type of fish to be made into Fish Balls. The fish meat if treated properly, gives the Fish Ball a fairly “bouncy” texture, whether handmade or machine-made. 友記 You Kee's fish balls are all made daily from the Deep Sea 西刀 Ikan Parang without 防腐劑 preservatives or 硼砂 borax.

Thoughts: Last visit here was October 20, 2020 before Covid2.0 Lockdown, it was 釀豆腐 Yong Tao Foo & 怡保蝦米豬腸粉 Ipoh Chee Cheong for dinner on the first visit. BUT today's breakfast is the rm$8.30 "怡保河嘻 Ipoh Hor Hee". Apparently the noodle is a very "Ipoh thing" is a soup noodle of 河粉 flat rice noodle or hor fun with fish ball, fish cake, fish wanton, and lots of vegetables (I think 生菜 shredded lettuce). It seems that the triangular shaped 魚皮雲吞 fish wanton or 魚餃 fish sui kao is a unique feature of this Ipoh Noodle but unfortunately only one piece comes with the standard bowl. But at the entrance to the interior table area is the counter for customer to choose add-on fresh home-made Yong Tao Foo (both fried and soup versions) and maybe around 30+ choices. Overall, at least the super light fish-soup based noodle looks and feels healthy and tasty! I think "冬菜 preserved vegetables or tong choy" (a usual ingredient) wasn't in today's bowl Hor Hee Noodle.

Fun Facts: "河嘻 Hor Hee" is actually a 潮州語 Teowchew language pronunciation for the word "鱼丸 Fish Ball or something like Hu Yee in Teowchew" and the name could have been accidental! The story goes that 潮州人 Teowchew people in Ipoh who sold fish ball hor fun soup back then, hired 廣東人 Cantonese 代筆在販攤寫招牌 "signboard ghostwriter" for their stalls; and the Cantonese people transliterated 潮州鱼丸 Teow chew fish balls into "河嘻 Hor Hee" without understanding the reason. So, "河嘻 Hor Hee" is likely an extended version of 潮州魚丸粿條湯 Teochew fish ball kuay teow.
