Thoughts: USJ17's "斯里美祿餐廳 Restoran Sri Melur" is probably one of the few remaining Eateries not yet ready for Dine-in which commenced since August 5, more than 9 weeks ago. At one time, Sri Melur was said to offer "the best Roti Canai in USJ", but there were netizens who also did not agree with that. But it did remain to be a popular neighborhood Mamak for nearby residents, now still a popular taka-away choice. And I believe many residents have been waiting for its re-opening for dine-in. 

The Covid-19 cases has been steadily reducing to around the number of cases in late May/June this year, as the +7373 cases were reported yesterday 10th October, a breath of fresh air from the +20,000 daily cases around End of August. 

There have been a total of 2,339,594 infections and 27,329 coronavirus-related deaths reported in the country since the pandemic began. As we are now in the 576th day of since the first lock-down in March 2020 last year when 55 confirmed COVID-19 cases was reported as at 5th March last year. Klang Valley was one of the first districts to enter the first Lock-down in early March, while the country went into a Nation wide lock-down in March 18 which is MCO 1.0.

With the first batch of the Pfizer–BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine arrived on 26 February 2021, the Inoculation process kicked-off steadily, to be distributed freely to both Malaysians and foreigners residing in Malaysia. In 1-2 days, the country will see at least 2/3rd or 66% of its population fully vaccinated. And Fully inoculated people will be allowed to cross state borders from Oct. 11 (today). 

 

Looks like the country is now in NRP (National Recovery Plan) in Phase 4 where public and private sector workplaces are allowed to operate at 100% capacity; face-to-face meetings and interviews are allowed with physical distancing.

Both Pfizer has also recently been approved as a booster shot (or 3rd dose) for people who are fully vaccinated and those who fit the criteria stipulated by the Ministry. The mixing of different vaccines will also be allowed for booster doses. In addition to the Pfizer-BioNTech shot, Malaysia uses vaccines made by Britain's AstraZeneca (AZN.L) and Chinese firms Sinovac (SVA.O) and CanSino Biologics (6185.HK) in its national inoculation campaign.

Thoughts: Another take-out day, the 7th day of no Dine-in with still another 23 days to go as the latest decision of 行動管制令 MCO3.0 is until 6th June next month.
With 423 days since the first 封城 (行動管制令) Lock-down (MCO1.0) starting March 18th last year, it has been more than a year now. Likely no one in the planet was spared in this pandemic, in anyway of shape and form. Lucky and God Blessed for those who still have a job, but with 不太理想的工作室 less-than-ideal workstations, 久坐的習慣 combined with sedentary work habits, 家庭成員緊張關係 strained relationships at home, have taken a physical toll on those working from home. But the case is worst and detrimental for those who have were out of a job or just retired!
For many, the crisis is not just an 經濟觀點 economic view point but also the 精神健康 mental health of everyone, where 恐懼 fear, 擔心 worry and 焦慮 anxiety can cause 憂鬱 depression or lead to more 嚴重的心理健康問題 serious mental health problems. The Official messages of "要有耐心 Be Patient, 保持鎮定 Stay calm, 不要太著急 Don't be too anxious" aren't meaningful especially for those who are stressed financially, coupled with the whole country witnessing of every MCO from 1.0 to 3.0 did not seemed to have helped in improving the matter.

Thoughts: If you google "Restoran Sri Melur Jaya", you can even find someone took the time to facebook a "Boycott" page to entice facebook users to support the Boycott of the Mamak restaurant! Then again, there are also others who liked the food and services offered at USJ17's Sri Melur.

Restoran Sri Melur Jaya has been serving Roti Canai since 1995, and way back in 2014, their SS19 branch was voted as the Best Roti Canai Joint in the Klang Valley, as voted by the public for The Star People’s Food Awards. Before Sri Melur came to USJ17, the same corner shop lot location is like the "Jinx" to many businesses who came and go quickly and Sri Melur is the last tenant for many many years now at the same spot. The restaurant used to operate 24 hours but now is 6am to around mid-night. 

Morning time is still very popular with Roti Canai, Roti Tissue, Tosai, or Roti Telur for breakfast; so far, the Roti-Roti wasn't too bad; but the Teh Tarik is usually very sweet despite asking for "kurang kurang manis". Lunch and dinner comes with white rice or Mutton Briyani rice and expect from rm$10 to rm$20+ dependinn on what you ask for in your plate. 

Lunch today is code "43" which means white rice with 1 meat and 2 vegetable at rm$8.80, came with generous amount of Indian yellow curry chicken, some yellow vegetables and a boiled egg, drenched with lots of yellow curry. And as usual, super sweet Teh C kurang-kurang manis!

There were not too many choices of either vegetables and meat for lunch but the price is acceptable for my plate of 1 meat and 2 vegetables at rm$8.80. The crispy fried chicken are also a popular choice either to go with or without rice or even with roti canai, and I think morning usually also offers Nasi Lemak and night time Tandoori and Naan breads are available. It used to be a popular spot for late-night goers for supper fare, alll-day goreng-goreng and teh tarik as the parking here is usually much easier comparing to other eateries in USJ.
