Thoughts: Hailed from Alor Star's best Nasi Kandar, "Nasi Lemak Ong" is not in Klang Valley! The founder, Mr Ong Kee Tea, learned to cook the dish from a veteran Indian-Muslim chef. Soon after, he decided to open up a business, and the rest is history.
You can pair your meat (honey chicken, mutton, fried chicken, squid, duck leg or tiger prawn) with white rice or ginger infused yellow-hued rice (a unique Kedahan-styled nasi kandar from Alor Setar). The set prices are from rm$14.90 to rm$23.90, you also get choice of egg (omelette or boiled egg) and a vege choice. The set meal also comes with Ice Lemon Tea. My honey chicken was sweet and tender, very nice!
You will have to queue to to order your Nasi Lemak (Nasi Kandar Kedah), after your choice of meat, egg, and vege, the kitchen will ask you for degree of spicy sauce you want on your rice (less spicy to super spicy!)
Nasi Lemak Ong is located at Level 8 of Pavilion Elite, there was a queue at lunch today but it did not take too long to get the ordered food to the table. Before 12 noon and after 3pm, a few choices of Goreng Goreng and Roti Canai are also available. especially interesting is Roti Canai Curry Mutton and "Black Roti"! I have my eye on the "Black Roti" in my next visit to KL Pavilion!
