Thoughts: I arrived at the hotel at 7pm (mind you that the reception closes at 6pm). However, you will be given a password for entering to the room (no door keys/access cards here). The rooms are all on the 2nd floor and you will have to drag your luggage walking up 1 stairs!
Nevertheless, surprisingly clean and spacious once you get to the room in the 2nd floor. There are minimum of 2 bedrooms upstairs, a toilet and a living room cum kitchen. Very comfortable sofa and beds with 3 large screen TVs. Very comfortable!
Ropewalk Piazza Hotel consists of 12 units of 2 and 3-bedroom suites, all the rooms are on the 2nd floor above a row of restored colonial shop lots which is located at almost the end of Jalan Pintal Tai before turning into Jalan Dr Lim Chwee Leong (Prangin Mall). Do not be confused with another Hotel called "Rope Walk Guest House" on the same road. I would say the hotel is strategically located within walking distance to the Penang Malls and Kimberley street Chinese hawker stalls is just a stone throw away; yet, it is not crowded with tourist in the evenings! It is suitable for family or groups maybe 4-8 people !
