Thoughts: 莫定標娘惹糕厂 Moh Teng Pheow Nyonya Koay is one of the biggest dessert/kueh maker in Penang. Perhaps famous for its Nyonya Kuih. The establishment is located off Lebuh Chulia via Jalan Masjid; parking is free for customers. From the entrance which does not look very inviting, customer will be meeting the workers busy making the traditional Nyonya desserts; looks like a small factory. Further in is where customer can place your order for take-away is a quiet homely environment much like an old house in the older days, there are also tables for customer to savor the desserts on-site.
My opinion, desserts definitely taste good but size of the kuih are smaller than whats generally sold elsewhere. Besides Nyonya Kuih, the factory also offers Nasi Ulam, Nasi Kunyit, and even Nasi Lemak; drinks are also available!
Quite an interesting place to visit and good for a late breakfast or lunch until 5pm. Nice!
