Review: 8 / 10 👍👍👍😋😋😋
Highlights: Street food goodness, Nostalgia
Thoughts: Founded in 1945, 蕭氏豬腸粉 Xiao's Chee Cheong Fun were founded by 蕭裔 Xiao Yi, who now known as the "裔記" Yi Kee, famous for its 廣州傳統街頭豬腸粉 Traditional Guangzhou style Chee Cheong Fun. The Chee Cheong Fun is topped with 甜醬 sweet sauce, 辣椒醬 chili sauce, 麻油, sesame oil , with a final sprinkle of some 芝麻 sesame seeds, presented to you is a nostalgic food rare in Kuala Lumpur.
茨厂街裔记 Xiao Kee is easy to find as it is just at a corner of the cross road between Jalan Hang Lekir and Jalan Petaling; opposite 裔记 Xiao Kee is the famous 金莲记 Kim Lian Kee famous for its 炭烧福建面 Charcoal Hokkien Mee. And next to 裔记 Yi Kee is another "Old" 汉记 Hon Kee! Both of these shops 裔记 Yi Kee and 汉记 Hon Kee has been here since the 50s and 60s respectively; likely managed by the now 3rd or 4th generations of the family.
汉记 Hon Kee used to only sell porridge but I think when 裔记 Yi Kee's Chee Cheong Fun got famous a few years ago, they also started selling Chee Cheong Fun. For me, 裔记猪肠粉 Yi Kee's Chee Cheong Fun is still the best in town!
The Hot Porridge is OK for the 皮蛋瘦肉粥 Preserved egg & Lean pork Porridge, but I would think the Fish Porridge is much better especially the 生鱼粥 Raw Fish Porridge.
Opening Hours: 07:00am - 16:00pm
