一天停车费 Per-Entry Parking $4
Review: 7 / 10 👍👍😋😋
Highlights: Brightly lighted before dawn and after dark, Parking attendant at entrance all day long, 1 minute walk to Station
Thoughts: my 2nd day on LRT and today I have decided to park at USJ 21's multi-storey parking which charges $4 per entry. The parking attendance is sitting at entrance to collect the entrance fees and he sits there from morning until it closes at night! Just "maybe" a little bit of security there as he is manning the place all day long. (perhaps until Prasarana decides to put up a parking payment machines)
The once abandoned building was taken over by Prasarana as their designated paid parking for USJ 21 LRT station. Not many $4 per entry paid parking offered by Prasarana at other stations are "covered parking", and most are open space parking only. For the same price, what's offered at USJ 21 is worthwhile. For now, it definitely looks very clean at least at the Ground Floor where I parked (I think it has 4 floors with likely the 4th floor being open air). When I arrived here around 7:15am after breakfast, it still brightly lighted with fluorescent light. Parking lots are spacious between cars and has good lenght for "longer" cars like minivans or perhaps most 4WDs.
Despite the all-day $4 parking, if you ever come to USJ 21, you still can see most people just park their cars illegally on road shoulders making a 2 lanes road a single lane and although MPSJ visits at certain hours everyday to do their rounds of summons; it never deter anyone from parking illegally. The sitation is worsen after 5pm or in the weekends as MPSJ officers are off duty. MPSJ designated parkings at USJ are now at $0.60 per hour and one can only pay a maximum of 2 hours each time making it a hassel for those who park the whole day; so, the usual strategy is to estimate the MPSJ arrival times and only pay at those times making it a cheaper parking option OR just take the risk to park anywhere until MPSJ officers arrives then pretend to go sit in the car for awhile until the officers leave the area. So, you can see many people just their car (double-parked) outside the restaurant they are eating, or where they are doing their business.
USJ 21 multi-storey parking is only less than 1 minute of walk to the USJ 21 LRT station; well marked pedestrian and walkways from the parking lot to the station. Both the parking lot and station are well lighted even if you arrive here around 6am, the multi-storey structure can be easily seen from the trunk road Jalan Kewajipan once you are near to the USJ 21 LRT station. I would generally think this is a very good parking option for illegal, "general safe", in-door parking for LRT commuters desired to take the ride at USJ 21.
