G-02 KL ICC Jalan Kijang, Pudu, 55100 Kuala Lumpur
海南茶 Hainan Tea $1.70
Review: 7 / 10 👍👍😋😋
Highlights: Outdoor Seating
Thoughts: There are 5 coffee shops/kiosk/stalls at KL ICC, 4 of them including 阿榮哥海南茶檔 "Ah Weng Kor" are from the previous Old Imbi Market; except this one which is 经瑞茶室 King Swee Cafe.
All 5 of them serves 海南茶 Hainan Tea, why call it tea and not coffee; likely because it is a mixture of Tea and Coffee and maybe the proportion of tea is higher than coffee or depending on which shop making it OR maybe 海南茶 Hainan Tea sounds better than 海南咖啡 Hainan Coffee! I am just blabbing to myself.
Some say "Ah Weng Kor" is the best in town, some say otherwise; maybe it depends on individual. But "Ah Weng Kor's" family members are known to be pricklier when they are busy, and never try your luck on the "VIP" seats as they are for their "VIP" customers only. I tried once at the Old Imbi Market and was "Shoo" away like a dog. LOL! But times are bad now for "Ah Weng Kor" as they have rented a large area in KL ICC and they certainly will have to work harder to sell more cups of Hainan Tea to pay for the much much higher rent here compared to what used to be at the Old Imbi Market.
Although I often drink coffee but I am never an expert and cannot tell what is the best Hainan Tea; even King Swee's Hainan Tea is not bad after my vegetarian Mee Hoon. It is a smaller kiosk compared to "Ah Weng Kor" with the boss and one helper.
I used to eat and drink at the same place every morning, but now even "Ah Weng Kor", which is just a few steps away: I would probably try another Hainan Tea stall next to it, LOL!
Opening Hours: 06:00am - 03:30pm
