Highlights: Alighted at Pasar Seni to 星江茶餐室 Restoran Zhing Kong, just about few minutes walking distance from the Pasar Seni LRT Station Exit on 苏丹街 Jalan Sultan turning to 卡斯杜麗街 Jalan Hang Kasturi (corner shop lot)! The restaurant offers Prawn Mee, Beef Noodle, Wan Ton Mee, Pork Noodle, Pan Mee, Claypot Noodles, and Kuih-Kuih. I had the 蝦麵 Prawn Mee today. It definitely comes in a full flavored prawn based soup, very nice. Surprisingly to me, KL's 蝦麵 Prawn Noodle (Har Mee) soup is also called 福建蝦麵 Penang Hokkien Mee (in Penang), and in Singapore, there is a version called Hae Mee (stired fried Hokkine Mee).
As usual, my prawn mee bowl is garnished with cooked prawns (3) and thinly sliced pork, blanched bean sprouts and kangkong, fried shallots, and 1/2 boiled egg.
星江茶餐室 Restoran Zhing Kong is one of the very few Chinese coffee shops still left with its 60s-70s style decoration in KL China Town. Apparently, the 糯米鸡 Loh Mai Kai and 大包 Tai Pao also very nice here! Many people have good comments about the 牛肉粉 Beef Noodle as well. This shop is likely one of the cheapest place to offer Beer in KL China Town!
