Thoughts: Last visit to Dashi Saya Dining was July 21st 2017 where it was "だし茶漬けさけ Rice w/Hot Dashi Soup Grilled Salmon Flake" for lunch. It was a positive 1st time visit then and today lunch choice was similarly a very good one.
The "サイコロステーキ丼定食 Beef Steak Cube Rice Don Set" comes with medium rare beef cubes with an interesting "sambal-like" sauce on the side (which was a mixed of radish, mushroom chili and blended spices!); at rm$26 before tax, the Don set also comes with miso soup and a vegetable side (莲藕). The Chef recommended their signature Add-on side 大根 Daikon (Radish) which was tasty indeed!

Thoughts: Lunch, I tried the Salmon Rice with Dashi Soup. Dashi (出汁, だし) is a class of soup and cooking stock used in Japanese cuisine. Dashi forms the base for miso soup, clear broth, noodle broth, and many kinds of simmering liquid. It is also mixed into flour base of some grilled foods like okonomiyaki and takoyaki. The color is much like Tea, pouring into the Salmon+Rice with other ingredients (spring onion, (optional wasabi), sesame, and seaweed); a little like Hakka 客家擂茶 Leicha. Unlike Leicha, Dashi broth is less exotic, here you can refill the dashi pot and just drink it after the food. Quite a refreshing experience!
