Review: 5 / 10 😐😐
Highlights: non-Halal, Out-door seating
Thoughts: Taking the LRT today and intended to park at USJ 21 LRT's multi-storey parking; and I was therefore able to have breakfast at USJ 14 before heading towards the parking and LRT ride to KL at USJ 21.
UJS 14 has 3 restaurants with each having maybe 8 to 12 hawkers making it a place with quite some varieties for USJ residents nearby; therefore parking is usually difficult later the day. But around 7am should still be easier parking, I arrived at 美食茶餐室 MeiSek which is facing the Jalan Kewajipan (one of the trunk roads in USJ) at 6:45am, and some of the stalls already in business. USJ 14's hawker stalls may be a good choice to stop by for early breakfast before an LRT ride to work!
And I am trying the Chasiew Wan Ton Mee today. The stall name is 兴记 Heng Kee, the chef and only person managing the stall is a foreigner and likely Myanmar. The Owner is likely a Chinese who perhaps owns several stalls hiring foreigners as his/her cook; this seems to be a business model chosen by many hawkers today as a means of 分散投资 decentralizing the investment, LOL!
There is another interesting business model at 美食茶餐室 Restoran Meisek where you will have to order, pay at the counter and collect the drinks yourself. The waitress only clean the tables! LOL! Of course this business model is normal in fast food restaurants like McD or KFC but 茶餐室 in USJ or even KL is the first time I witnessed. And I only realized the business model until I waited for some time and all the waitress just past by my table not asking me of whats drink to order which is what we all expect in typical Malaysia 茶餐室. Finally, I called the waitress and she pointed at the counter. Definitley very interesting indeed!
Opening Hours: 07:00am - 03:00pm (whenever finished)
