Thoughts: Cititel is a hotel along Penang Road in George Town, strategically located at the heart of the Unesco World Herritage area. It is close to historical sites such as the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, Muntri Street, the street foods of Penang. It is a 4-Star hotel, regulations of local government requires extra rm$4/day for hotels located in the Herritage site.
Cititel is not a young hotel, only some floors are newly renovated. At 18 storey high and 451 rooms, most rooms get a view of the city. There are designated floors for smoking guest as well.
My Deluxe room is equipped with a 32 inch Flat screen TV, work area, Coffee/Tea-making facility, cupboard for hanging clothes, area for luggage, a safe, iron, and free wifi (very good speed).
Booked the room through Agoda (a bit expensive due to last minute reservations). Normal room rates for Deluxe seems to be around $240 only.
