Thoughts: 潮客私房菜 Union Tradi Food has a history that started in 1955 where a Mr Yong Joo Chin started initially as a coffee shop and later become the famous 友联大酒家 Yew Lian Restaurant in Tanjung Sepat. Later Mr Yong handed the business to the 2nd generation to Mr Sim Hong Heong son inlaw and Madam Yong Lee Soon in the 70s, 80s. It is famous in Tanjong Sepat for its Signature dishes of Hakka Yam Abcus, plum Sauce Porl Knuckle (Bentong Ginger), Teow Chew Steam Fish, Braised Duck, Swert Yam Paste, Rice Wine Chicken, Pepper Pork Stomach Soup.
潮客私房菜 Union Tradi Food is a branch of that Tanjong Sepat original restaurant and here is serving Hakka and Teochew cuisines. The restaurant claims to be using traditional cooking methods and fine ingredients to retain the traditional taste.
Were generally satisfied with most dishes here but disappointed with the Hakka Yam Abacus which was too salty. Still like Mom's version of the Hakka Yam Abacus!
