Thoughts: From google search, there are at least a dozen dim sum destination (if not more) in Georgetown alone. I have visited both 大東酒楼 Tai Tong Restaurant & 桃园茶楼 Tho Yuen restaurant at Lebuh Kimberley last month. In this trip, I am trying out 龙记港式点心 Leong Kee Tim Sum on Jalan Pintal Tali.
The Dim Sum sample is average in taste; here, its self service. Get a tray at the entrance of the restaurant, choose what you desire, and the staff will mark on the Dim Sum Card. Even refill of hot water for the chinese tea is self-service! Dim Sum prices are price rm$1.50 - rm$9, but most plates are between rm$3 - rm$5.
Compared to Tai Tong and Tho Yuen, Leong Kee seems more of a local haunt. A place for local elderly to gather and chill out in the early mornings with hot chinese tea and some local dim sum. I like my morning here!
