Thoughts: From 7th August this month, the "New" Weng Soon Jaya re-openend into a full 2 shop lot featuring extra space and hopefully no longer that stuffiness while it closed the corner lot for renovation since the end of last year!
Visiting the "New" 新永顺 for the first time this morning since its re-opening, it certainly came with more space with some new stalls. This morning, I am trying the Ipoh Hor Fun stall (new) offering Ipoh Hor Fun and Fresh prawn Wanton Hor Fun at a slight higher price of rm$8 (general noodles price today around rm$5.50-$7).
But it was worth it, the prawn wantons (maybe 6) were of good size with a wonderful prawn soup as a base. Lots of customers ordering the Ipoh Hor Fun making it one of the "new" but busiest stall at the shop.
The new look of the shop was good, certainly less of that "stuffiness" while part of the shop was closed for renovation. Definitely the eating experience will be even "cooler" in the evening for the Dai Chao session. The new Weng Soon Jaya with more space and hawker food choices presents a refershing choice for nearby USJ residents.
