Thoughts: A visit long overdue to Takumi (last was 20th July) last month! This time 2 by Hitachino Nest (Ibaraki) by 1 by Shiga Kogen. Enjoyed all 3 of them.
Hitachino Nest has been in the history of brewing for over 190 years, and it is now the 8th generation, and brewed by Kiuchi brewery. Its bottles comes with the familiar "owl".
Japan's craft beer history is rather a new one, as of 2015 there were about 250 craft breweries in Japan compared to around 3000 in America! It is considered to be a young but booming industries with continuing interest and acceptance for local and international consumption. I am not craft beer expert but according to articles, it seems that the German craft beer have some influence on the style of Japanese craft beer!
Takumi craft beer at KL Lot 10 Isetan always have 4 taps and each month visit, I get to taste all different Japanese craft beers. All 3 visits were excellent.
