Thoughts: Food Foundry is a cosy family restaurant, situated in the leafy suburb of Section 17, Petaling Jaya. The restaurant is part of the "Asian Age Group" of companies which is into F&B managing a family of eateries (besides Food Fountry, the other 3 F&B are Butter & Beans also in Happy Mansion, Feeka coffee in KLs Jalan Mesui, Bricklin Cafe bar in Penangs Georgetown). Probably can check-out Feeka coffee since will be in KL soon.
Happy Mansion is an Apartment compound in PJ Seksyen 17 but which is also known for its eateries!
Last minute decision for dinner brought me here via WhatsApp, easy parking in the evening but not easy to locate without GPS. It's signature Almond Salted Caramel Mille Crepe comes with glorious and generous amount of crunchy almond toppings, the cake comes with smooth think crepes layered with caramel cream, not as sweet as I imagined. A 1.5kg whole cake will set you back rm$168, a slice is rm$14 but well worth it. No doubt that it is the best selling cake here.
For the main course, I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu. It is said that Cordon Bleu to be a French cuisine (meaning "blue ribbon), it is a dish of meat (can be chicken, ham, or veal) wrapped around with cheese fillings, breaded and baked/pan-fried. Unfortunately, I think there were too much meat and too little cheese filling in my Cordon Blue serving.
Food Foundry's trained foreign workers also whipped up a good Latte, they are also helpful in pointing out choices in the menu and whats the eateries speciality. Was not disappointed with Food Foundry and certainly eager to check-out its sister operation "Butter + Beans at 17" as well as "Feeka Coffee" by Asian Age Group, the earlier in Happy Mansion as well and later in KL.
