烤龙虾餐 Duke Royal half Lobster w/Rice 😐😐
水煮辣酱龙虾餐 King Red Hot Royal half Lobster 😐😐
Budget: MYR$80/person (one Lobster)
Food Price: Lobster promo ($70.90)
Highlights: Seafood, Halal
Parking: Mall Parking
Thoughts: Served here are Refrigerated Seafood, do not expect fresh seafood. Not to say that it is bad but it is not as fresh as you want and the best lobsters are boiled or steamed and not grilled or baked! Here, as only "imported" Candanian Lobster must have been refrigerated for sometime, so expect less!
The "Duke Royal" Canadian Lobster is grilled and comes with panned fried Dory fish as well as Shrimp rice and vegetables. The taste is at least better than the "King Red" Hot Lobster; which is poaced and covered with red hot spicy sauce and comes with Dory fish and some vegetables.
I think the tables are too small and only fit for smaller meals. The restaurant can really do away with the divider in the middle of the shop lot, and I believe that Beer and not Coca-Cola should be served to go along with the Lobsters! "Manhattan Market" at Sunway Pyramid is located at the "Old" Wing at LG2 where all the restaurants are. Parking here is difficult even on weekday evenings but if you are luck can still find parking at the Hotel's wing ("New" Wing) accessible via CP3 which then goes up to CP7.
The restaurant has about a dozen locations across Klang Valley, as well as in Putrajaya, Penang Seremban, Melaka, a few more in JB! There are mixed reviews in the web about dining here, some like it and some not. Most complains are food not fresh and poor service, I tend to agree.
But interesting, it had won many "Franchising of the year award" in Malaysia. In "The Star" article featured way back in 2005, MFM charges US$80,000 (RM304,000) for a master licence in each country. Interestingly, despite its name, the article reported that MFM is a home-grown product which started its business in 2002 at the Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur.
The REAL "The Manhattan Fish Market" is an All-Americal Style Seafood concept that has 180 years in the making. Started right in Manhattan under the Brooklyn Bridge, with the "freshest seafood" from the famed Fulton Fish Market. I have no idea if the MFM in Malaysia has anything to do with the Original American-based MFM! Our Malaysia version of MFM claims to have 72 restaurants in Asia and the Middle East, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Oman, Japan, Bangladesh, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Brunei and Maldives. The F&B company certainly paints a good picture of itself in its website with many awards and franchise locations across Asia!
