Thoughts: Most kopitiam still selling small TehC at rm$1.80, some selling special version like small HoiLamCha at rm$2.50 like Thong Kee (at Sea Park). This shop's TehC at rm$1.90 (+$0.10 isn't much but why and wasn't even really good!). There are 3 Kopitiams in PJ Paramount operating from morning: Restoran Sorn, O & S Restaruant (neighbour), and Millennium Eight-Six (across the street). O & S is the busiest and with most stalls (more than a dozen).
Opted for this quieter place with only Wan Ton Mee, Pork noodle, and a Pastry stall operating as early as 7am (other stalls at Sorn's seems very quiet). The Wan Ton, Mee, and ChaSiew is of acceptable standard, the young chap was always smiling, good service! The pastry stall has a oven and seems to bake the pastries on the spot for selling them hot from the oven, definitely need to try it in some other morning if chance to PJ Paramount.
The Paramount Garden shops and residential has been around since the early 70s (or earlier) and hasn't changed too much except some new structures. Even the old post office is still around; of course Paramount Cinema was long gone! I remember a "Chi Kut Teh" here at one of the shops opposite Paramount Cinema but that also gone! Interestingly "Institute Eu" is still around as I remember it offers those Accounting Courses in LCCI since the early 80s. The used to be Petrol station (opposite Restoran Sorn) now under construction for something with glassy windows and concrete walls of somekind. Strolling these streets here around Paramount Garden & Sea Park early in the morning seems strange as memories come to me to have walked on these streets everyday more than 40 years ago!
