Thoughts: This is the 2nd visit to SS18's "KUEH Café", the 1st time was 02.February 2022. As of today, there are 3 KUEH Cafe (2 in Shah Alam and 1 in Subang Jaya):

"KUEH Cafe" is the brainchild of Mr Mohamad Ezwan Mohamad Zain with its first location in Seksyen 13 Shah Alam opened in in August 2015. The Café offers 40+ traditional Malay dessert cakes (Kuih Melayu). With lots of hipster Cafes mushrooming, Ezwan had an idea for a Modern Cafe that offers traditional Kueh Malayu. He used the word "KUEH" for his new venture, and "粿 KUEH" is a Hokkine word which is Malay is "KUIH".
"KUEH Cafe" offers traditional Malay dessert cakes like 烤香蘭糕 Kuih Bakar (Baked Pandan Cake), 三角椰絲粿 Kuih Koci (Glutinous Rice Cake with Coconut Filling), 雙層糯米班蘭糕 Seri Muka (Sticky Rice Pandan Cake), 绿豆糯米粉糕 Tepung Gomak (Malaysian style Mochi), 香蘭椰絲卷 Kuih Ketayap (Crepes with Sweet Coconut Filling), 蒸木薯 Ubi Kayu Rebus (Boiled Cassava), and many more are popular for Malays, Chinese, and Indian community.Other than a good variety of traditionally Malay dessert cakes, the SS15 "KUEH Café" offers Malaysian favorites like 椰漿飯 Nasi Lemak, 番茄飯 Nasi Tomato, 北馬叻沙 Laksa Utara, 馬來腸粉 Laksam, and a variety of Sides like 煎網餅 Roti Jala, 馬來薄烤餅 Lempeng etc.
Perhaps with the first recipes of "Kuih or Kueh" were created by the Peranakan or Nyonya people, whom are pre-colonial Chinese settlers who have integrated with the local Malay people. Maybe that is why "粿 KUEH" or in Malay "KUIH", with the word being Chinese Origin (in this case in 福建話 Hokkien dialect); BUT overly the years, the Malay style "Kueh" have evolved into taste and looks that are distinctively Malay or maybe Indonesia style as well. The "Kuih" is unique with the usually 椰奶 creamy coconut milk blended with 米粉 rice flour, 澱粉 mung bean starch or 木薯粉 tapioca flour. Stuffed with 西米 sago, 椰絲 shredded coconut (sweet, savory or spicy) and flavored with 糖棕 sugar, 櫚糖 palm sugar, and 少許鹽 mild touches of salt, as well as 班蘭 Pandan for fragrance. 糯米 Glutinous rice, 山藥 yam, 紅薯 sweet potato and 藍蝶豆 blue butterfly pea are also common ingredients in this Malaysian dessert. Today, "KUIH" is a term that includes pastries, cookies, dumplings, and cakes of many kinds. But the traditional Nyonya Kuih is still a mainstay enjoyed by all Malaysians. Not just great for dessert, a popular tea-time snacks; and available in morning, night markets by street vendors and wven in skme Chinese Kopitiams. Food today: 7 / 10 👍👍😋😋
