Nice "almost authentic" 香港絲襪奶茶 Hong Kong Milk Tea, also Hong Kong style lunch Tea time snacks like 蛋治 Egg Sandwiches, 多士 Toast, and 菠蘿包 Polo Buns plus limited 出前一定 Instant Noodles and 碗仔飯 Rice bowls.

香港絲襪奶茶 Hong Kong-style milk tea (Xi Mut Nai Cha or Silk-Stocking Milk Tea); where “絲襪 Xi Mut” is the word for panty-hose in Cantonese. Some story said the name is because 絲襪 panty-hose/silk stocking is used to 茶葉過濾 filter the tea leaves, but other stories is that 麻布袋 sackcloth bag is use to filter the tea leaves in order to make the tea smoother look like a panty-hose, thus the milk tea is known as 褲襪奶茶 Xi Mut Milk Tea. But Hong Kong-style milk tea originates from 英國殖民統治時期 British colonial rule over Hong Kong. The British practice of 英式下午茶 afternoon tea, where 紅茶 black tea is served with milk and sugar, grew popular in Hong Kong in the colonial days. The Hong Kong Chinese of the Milk tea is the same except with 淡奶 evaporated or condensed milk substituted for traditional milk. This popular Hong Kong Tea is said to have been invented by a Mr. Lam in a restaurant in 蘭芳園 Lan Guai Fong in the 1950s. The 菠蘿包 Polo Bun ("菠蘿" is Pineapple in Cantonese and therefore Polo Bun is literally "Pineapple Bun"); But there are no Pineapple in the making the Polo Bun, the name refers to the look of the characteristic topping (that sweet crust) with the texture that looks like the Pineapple skin! The story of the Polo Bun is interesting, in that it started to become popular in 1940s in Hong Kong when a Chinese was deported from Mexico. And after returning back to Hong Kong, he opened a Hong Kong-style café in Hong Kong’s 上海街 Shanghai Street where he started to make a variant of 墨西哥麵包 Mexico bun as a tribute to the "Concha" (a traditional Mexican sweet bread roll).
