"Cauli & Rice", started in 2019 with the concept of 花椰菜飯 Cauliflower Rice instead of 炒飯 Fried Rice; with the initial outlets in 梳邦 Subang, 金地花園 Sri Hartamas, and 白沙羅萬達 Damansara Utama offering only as take-out and delivery kitchen with no dine-in options. The 2020 MCO provided impetus and promising reception to the "healthier" take-out choice they offered, and with that resulted in Dine-in locations as of today.
BUT Co-founder Kenneth Lai initially started off with the intention of selling 炸雞 fried chickens from a central kitchen for takeaways and deliveries under the "M Fried Chicken" brand. Later, his team paired the 炸雞配炒飯 Fried Chicken with Fried Rice as a take-away combination. The subsequent idea of venturing into 花椰菜飯 Cauliflower Rice as an alternative to Fried Rice was accidental and a challenging decision but with surprisingly good acceptance from the Klang Valley Market; hence "Cauli & Rice" was born!
