Thoughts: Fortune Centre has been around since the early 1980s, is a 20-storey office-cum-retail building with food and retail outlets on the first three storeys. It stands at the junction of 密駝路 Middle Road and 明古連街 Bencoolen Street, placing it in close proximity to 維多利亞街 Bugis Junction, InterContinental Hotel Singapore, Singapore Management University and numerous eateries, tourist and cultural attractions.
Not the modern shopping centers in Singapore but this 40 year old 金隆大厦 Fortune Centre is rather similar to the look and feel of 吉隆坡武吉免登 KL Bukit Bintang's 金河廣場 Sungei Way Plaza which opened for business in 1977.Thoughts: Fortune Centre has been around since the early 1980s, is a 20-storey office-cum-retail building with food and retail outlets on the first three storeys. Today's dinner is at one of the eateries at the ground floor of the "Old" plaza, "香港點心店 Hong Kong Dim Sum Shop"; which offers Hong Kong Dim Sum plus noodles and rice dishes. Dim Sum baskets here are from around SGD$5 to SGD$8 (about rm$16 to rm$28 !!!). The 3 items ordered for dinner today wasn't too bad.
