It is an interesting rm$12 "沙勞越粿雜(大) Sarawak Kway Chap (L) for lunch. Unlike 檳城 Penang's Legendary 鴨肉粿雜 Duck Kway Chap at Restoran Kimberly (汕头街 Kimberley street), this one here is 沙勞越 Sarawak style 豬肉粿雜 Pork Kway Chap!
Apparently, besides the well known 古晉街邊美食 Kuching street food of 哥羅麵 Kolo Mee and 砂拉越叻沙 Sarawak Laksa; Sarawak Kway Chap is another favorite local street food that Penangites love. Kway Chap (or Kueh Chap) is of Teochew dialect; as Kway = 粿 is FLAT rice noodle AND Chap = 雜 is Mixed Pork. So 粿雜 Kway Chap is actual a mix of 扁米粉 Flat Rice noodles in a Pork Stew with various 豬肉 Pork Meats and 豬內臟 Pork Spare Parts (Pork Innards). This particular noodle dish is said to be of 潮州料理 Teochew style.
