SS15's "大家美食中心 Big Family Restaurant" is fast becoming a go-to multi-hawker stall Chinese Kopitiam with at least 18 hawker stalls and this is the 3rd visit to the Kopitiam. "John 檳城美食" hawker stall is right at the entrance to the Kopitiam, offering 滷麵 Lor Mee, 檳城蝦麵 Har Mee, 雞絲粿條湯 Chredded Chiken Kuey Teow Soup, and 手工魚丸 Hand-made Fish Ball from rm$6 - rm$9. So far, all 3 visits for Breakfast are more than satisfactory. The usual small cup of Coffee (previously rm$1.80 - rm$2) is now at rm$2.60 but a definitely a Gao Cuppa!

There are lots of 檳城蝦麵 Penang Prawn Mee/Har Mee in KL but the best 蝦麵 Har Mee sampled are still in 檳城島 Penang Island. While KL folks calls it "蝦麵 Har Mee", it is called "福建麵 Hokkien Mee" in Penang and that is not the same as the KL "福建麵 Hokkien Mee" (Fat noodles like udon with dark sauce)! In Penang, the "福建麵 Hokkien Mee" can be found in shops, streets, side roads, and night markets, making it an all-day-long and all-time-favorite noodle dish in the Island. In fact, there are some stalls still offers your favorite bowl of "Mid-night Har Mee" (unique in Penang Island) after mid night until week hour of the morning.  

The noodle dish is said to be originated from the 中國福建省 Fujian province in China, brought along to the Island by Chinese migrants long before the independence of the country. The divine bowl of "Har Mee" is a concoction of pure 蝦湯 shrimpy stock (made with 蝦頭 shrimp heads and 蝦殼 shrimp shell). Each bowl usually comes with 豬肉片 pork slices (or 排骨 pork ribs), 蝦 shrimp, 炸洋蔥 fried shallot, 豆芽 bean sprouts, 空心菜 kangkong (water spinach), 煮雞蛋 boiled egg, and a spoon of 辣椒醬 chili paste, and probably with 黃麵 yellow noodles or 米粉 rice noodles; the prawn soup maybe so good that some customers usually slurp away the prawn broth to empty the bowl!
