Today's rm$7.90 "吉膽椰漿飯 Pulau Ketam Nasi Lemak" is a concoction of 椰香飯 Coconut flavored rice with 迷你炸江魚仔 mini fried anchovies (albeit without the 花生 nuts and 黃瓜 cucumbers), 去殼小蝦 generous amount of small prawns, 炒洋蔥 sautéed onions, and 乾炒參巴辣椒 dried and fried sambal-like chili (albeit without sambal sauce). Without the sambal or curry, it is a dry an interesting Nasi Lemak dish! The stall offers both 椰漿飯 Nasi Lemak and 炸米粉 Fried Beehoon (vermicelli) with choices of 小蝦 prawns, 蘇東 sotong (squid), 咖哩山豬肉 wild board curry, 叁巴鮮蛤 sambal siham (clams), 咖哩雞 curry chicken, 咖哩豬肉 curry pork, and even 叁巴臭豆 sambal petai (stink beans). Any combination will set you back around rm$10 or less. Noticeably, it is the "吉膽島虾米幹炒辣椒醬 Pulau Ketam Style Dried Shrimp Chili or Pulau Ketam Chili Udang Kering in Malay" usually referred just as "蝦米辣" that makes this Nasi Lemak unique, which you can even find it available in both Shopee and Lazada!
Fun facts: 吉膽島(吉胆岛) Pulau Ketam or "Crab Island" is an island located off the coast of 巴生港口 Port Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. The island is in the 潮間帶 intertidal zone and the chief vegetation is 紅樹林 mangrove, it is also the home to two predominantly 華人漁村 Chinese of the 潮州人 Teochew and 潮福建人 Hokkien dialect and mainly are fishing villages founded around 1880.
SS15's "大家美食中心 Big Family Restaurant" still has a lot to offer after the 4th visit today, and looking forward to sample at least the Kopitiam's 羊角麵包三文治 Croissant sandwich, 雲吞麵 Wanton Mee, 泰式豬腳飯 Thailand pork throttle rice dishes, and 燒肉咖哩麵 Siew Yoke Curry Mee.
