Thoughts: This Yong Tao Foo Restaurant in one of the shop lots near Ampang Point shopping centre. 家鄉釀豆腐 Restoran Hometown Yong Tow Foo was established in 1988 (24 years) ago by a Miss Rohana (Malay) and Mr S Lim Chen (Chinese), offering Chinese Style Yong Tao Foo made Halal for all Malaysians. The Ampang Point branch is their first Location and I believe they have another 2 branches also in Ampang district, at Wangsa Maju and Taman Sri Wantan,

There aren't too many Yong Tao Foo choices, only 12; but definitely Chinese style YTF like 娘炸油條 Char Koay, 娘白豆腐 White Tow Foo, 炸水餃 Fried Soi Kow, and 炸釀腐竹 Foo Chuk etc., prices from rm$1.40 to rm$1.90 a piece. A plate of Chee Cheong Fun is at rm$6, pretty expensive CCF. Other side dishes are 蒜米雞翅 Chicken Wings, 姜芽雞 Ginger Chicken, etc.; all in a typical 2 page 中文菜單 Chinese Menu!
家鄉釀豆腐 Restoran Hometown Yong Tow Foo is at a shop lot facing Jalan Mamanda 9 (and opposite Hospital KPJ Ampang) and maybe 80 meters from Ampang Point Shopping Center. DBKL parking is challenging but there are several open space paid parking next to Ampang Point.
When one think about 釀豆腐 Yong Tau Foo (YTF), this Chinese dish is variety of items stuffed with fish paste and served in soup or drenched your YTF in sweet sauce and chili sauce before consuming it. But there is also the 客家釀豆腐 Hakka style YTF where the YTF is stuffed with mixed fish and minced meat. And "家鄉釀豆腐 Restoran Hometown Yong Tow Foo" is an interesting Collaboration of a Malay and a Chinese, and in fact the one shop lot restaurant is fully packed with our Malays rather than Chinese!
Fun Facts: When it comes to the story of the 釀豆腐 Yong Tow Foo origin, there are several which can be found in the internet. One story is that since the even the short periods of the 秦朝 Qin dynasty (221–206 BC), the 客家人的祖先 ancestors of the Hakka people have 南遷 migrated southwards several times because of social unrest, upheaval and invasions from the northern provinces (e.g. Gansu, Henan).
