Thoughts: And so, Day 8 of the Conditional MCO ending today to a more restricted CMCO to try to curb the still rising Covid-19 spread in Klang Valley. Effectively the CMCO will be with more restrictions applied from tomorrow Oct 22, 2020 to try to reduce the infectivity rate of the Covid-19. The latest news is for only those involved in public service and industries are told to work from home. As for "The Rest" they can continue to operate as usual under the new norms. "The Rest" should be meaning restaurants, eatery and green zone malls or shops. But for industries like offices should allow only a maximum of 10 per cent of workers covering accounting, finance, administration, law, planning and others to be in the office which will then be limited to only 4 hours from 10am to 2pm for 3 days a week.

There is yet any mentioning of when this new CMCO restrictions will end. Looks like this is going to be the last Happy Hour for today in PJ until the restrictions are lifted again. And it is Happy Hour at "一樓餐吧 Yilo Restaurant & Bar" located in SS23; there is also a Yilo Bar in Subang Jaya SS15.
Driving past Yilo along SS23/15, one can easily mistaken Yilo to be just another Chinese restaurant by the look of its entrance design and the entrance sign board of "一樓" (with a little bit of "地下酒吧" speakeasy motive). Customers will not just be registering entry with "MySejahtera" and temperature check, but also to-be sprayed on for sanitization before entry. Only alternative tables are allowed for seating thus following the social distancing rules. Nevertheless, all allowed to-be-seated tables are all occupied this evening (full house).
SS23 一樓餐吧 Yilo Restaurant & Bar's entrance façade, ornaments and colors are certainly with an Oriental-inspired theme; once inside the Pub Restaurant, then the spiffy and eye-catching red neon lights at the bar counter with the words "杯酒言歡" with "old" Chinese wine pitches/bottles adorning its shelves show case a successive Oriental motif. When the menu comes, the appeal of Yilo does seems to lie in its "招牌必點 House Specials" of rice wine drinks served in traditional Chinese ceramic mugs/jugs, and also its "特調雞尾酒 Signature Cocktails". Tonight, I am sampling Yilo's secret recipe of "女兒紅 Nu Ey Hong", a mixture of smooth and aromatic rice wine with beer. Rather easy drinking concoction but still packs a punch at the end, there is choice of "Mug" at rm$17 (good for 1-2 persons), "Jug" for rm$58 (maybe for 3-4 persons) and 2 Jugs for rm$98.
The "女兒紅 Nu Ey Hong" also went well with the rm$17 "配酒南乳花肉 Deep Dried Nam Yu Pork Belly" (the portion is more for 2 person consumption); among the 9 下酒菜 beer bites, the chef recommended 祖傳漿配八爪魚 Octopus with Spicy Sauce and 辣椒鹽銀魚仔 Salt-Pepper White Bate also sounds interesting and looks to go well with the Chinese Wines or with their Ice-Cold Beers! And not just Beer Bites, Chinese Wines or Beers; for lunch there is also a variety of 40+ set lunches menu and over 100+ items of Fish, Chicken, Beef, Pork, or Vegetables recipes to choose from; most of them at rm$10 to rm$20+ per servings.
With the extensive food and drink choices, there is no need to have your meal somewhere else before heading for the booze in Yilo! However, the Pub can be a little noisy, something like a 日本居酒屋 Izakaya style Japanese Watering hole; where customers come for the food, beer, and socializing. For the atmosphere, somewhat affordable prices of unique Chinese wines, Beers and food variety, "一樓餐吧 Yilo Restaurant & Bar" of either in SS15 or SS23 are both worth visiting again whether lunch, dinner, supper or just for the booze!
