17.09.2017 Breakfast
@ 香香点心 Key Way Restaurant at PJ Paramount Garden (click to Google Map)
28, Jalan 20/16A, Taman Paramount, 46300 Petaling Jaya
鸡窝包 Chicken Wo Bao $7 👍👍👍😋😋😋
Highlights: MPPJ Parking, Non-Halal, All day Dim Sum
Thoughts: Having some work to do in PJ, I take opportunity to drive to Paramount Garden for breakfast. Paramount Garden is at PJ's Jalan 20 area just next to SEA Park. There is now an LRT stop here as well.
Paramount Garden used to have a cinema but has long been converted to somekind of market. It has been many many years since I walked on these roads in Paramount Garden. The corner coffee shops opposite the bus stations are still there which was my intended destination. Driving around the housing areas here reminding me on high school days walking around these areas.
But parking just outside the Post office (still around!), I saw a Dim Sum place called 香香点心 Key Way Dim Sum and I changed my mind for some Dim Sum. Ended up only calling a pot of tea which is 菊宝 and I notice something familiar I tried before in Penang's Dim Sum places; its called 鸡窝包 Chicken Wo Bao here. It seems that it is also called 帝皇包! Inside the Bao you have a mix of 糯米饭 Glutinous raice, 鸡肉 chicken meat, 冬菇 mushroom, 咸蛋黄 salted egg, and 洋葱 onion. It is very much like 糯米鸡+大包 all-in-one big bao. I remember I first tried it in Penang, somewhere near Kimberley street, maybe 8 or 10 years ago and never seen it since then.
Browsing throught the web, it seems that there is a famous one at Sri Petaling's 大家城点心茶楼 Clan Dim Sum Restaurant. Just google "鸡窝包", and almost the first page search result is this restaurant! must be really really famous lor! It is at Jalan Radin, off Endah Parade from Lebuhraya Shah Alam (or Bukit Jalil). I have got to try it next time if I am ever visiting Sri Petaling.
Review: 8 / 10 👍👍👍😋😋😋
Opening Hours: 06:00am - 09:00pm
