Thoughts: 大人餐厅 Esquire Kitchen's 猪肉料理 Pork dishes, likely Shanghai & Sze-Chuan styles are perhaps a local favorites among Chinese pork eaters.
Esquire Kitchen has an interesting history where in 1974;in those year, a group of China Scholars gathered on the top floor of a bookstore at Bukit Bintang every weekend and the food served are collectively prepared by their wives. As time goes by, the gathering drawed a bigger crowd and these China Scholars then have an idea for a Shanghai & Sze-Chuan style restaurant in Malaysia. Hence, the 1st Esquire Kitchen was conceptualized in 1974; it now has 11 restaurants in Klang Valley. Esquire Kitchen (1974) also bought over 南香 Nam Heong (1938) several years ago!
大人餐厅 Esquire Kitchen is famous for its porky meals; 锅贴 Shanghainese Fried Dumplings, 紅燒元蹄 Braised Pork Leg, and 东波肉 Tong Poh Meat are my favorites.
But today, I ordered the new 猪仔包 Pork Bun, different from the Macau version. A bit salty but juicy and goes well with the cucumber, vege and bun. You get 2 Pork bun burger for the price of $9.90. Esquire has been serving 锅贴 Shanghainese Fried Dumplings for so many years, still retaining the good old taste I remember in the 80s where going to Esquire at Damansara Jaya or Sungai Wang means eating their 上海面 Shanghai noodle and 锅贴 Shanghainese Fried Dumplings. The dumpling may be a little oily but dopped in the vinegar with slices of ginger and if you like some chili sauce, it us wonderful shanghai goodness in your mouth!
Review: 7 / 10 👍👍😋😋
