07.09.2017 Dinner
@ Restoran Nasi Kandar Zulkifli USJ 21 (click to Google Map)
9, Jalan USJ 21/3, 47630 Subang Jaya
印度煎饼 Roti Kosong $1.2
Review: 6 / 10 👍😋
Hightlights: Halal, Outdoor seating
Thoughts: Walking passed this restaurant after gym going to the USJ 21 LRT parking, saw this Mamak's TV showing Bruce Lee's movie (the familiar full-body yellow sports outfit)! Stopped by to watch the movie and to have a roti kosong (plain indian bread).
This restaurant is reported to open 24 hours, perhaps can be an early breakfast choice location for me next time before en-route via LRT at USJ 21 to KL in the morning.
Finished the Bruce Lee movie before leaving the restaurant. It's Bruce Lee's last movie "The Game of Death" featuring Lee fighting Kareem Abdul Jabar. The movie was an incomplete martial arts film produced in 1972 with Lee died before the movie was completed. I remember vividly in 1971, when our family lived in a shop lot in SEA Park; and opposite the shop lot was Ruby Theatre. When one of Lee's movie was played in that theatre, the swamp of people queued up for the movie was rediculous despite it was $0.80 (at that time Wan Ton Mee was only $0.30 per bowl)! Bruce Lee's last firm "The Game of Death" was release 5 years after his death in 1978. I never watched this movie until today, but read about it as well as saw some scenes in documentary films and remember the famous yellow full-body sports attire he wore when fighting Kareem Abdul Jaafar (whom is the famous American NBA Basketball in the 70s and 80s). In 1980s, in the US, Kareem was still playing pro basket ball for the Lakers and watching NBA was a great past time while studying in the US.
It was interesting to have an Indian Mamak restaurant to be showing a Bruce Lee movie, although the volume was low; it was a full cantonese movie.
Opening Hours: 08:00am - 09:00pm
